Couldn’t open the second suggestion from Busy-Lizzie, but I saw the green one. My thought was that if I was a size 10, I wouldn’t waste my figure in a dress without a bit of shape! I’d be in something more like the pic below. I’d be keen to hide my upper arms, even if it meant potentially trailing the cape sleeves in my drinks, or possibly setting fire to them if there are candles on the table!

  • Ah … confusion reigns … it’s statuesque me that likes the green dress … not size 10 @SamBevington…

I didn't like the sparkling green dress,it's shapeless, the material looks uncomfortable. Looks like a Quality Street sweet

I did just that @Ergates, caught my sleeve alight on a candle in a restaurant at the Barbican in Plymouth. That was a meal to remember in more ways than one. A very good fish restaurant, we'd gone on the off-chance, couldn't quite run to the seven course tasting menu but as they weren't very busy and presumably didn't want to waste the food, they served it up anyway. We kept getting these tiny dishes, beautifully presented, one in an antique coffee cup was especially good. Can't now remember our main courses but it was a lovely place. Not sure if it still exists.

I think you would all look lovely in the green one.

I’d love to do dresses a lot more often, but so impractical for my lifestyle.
Before Covid, we would take a cruise most years. I loved the opportunity to put on a frock for formal night ( OH would stick to his chinos and a shirt! We made a mismatched couple! ) I managed to pick up enough posh frocks from the local charity shops, so didnt feel extravagant, although I did pick up a ( as yet unworn ) blue lace Ted Baker dress for £24 in TKMaxx.
