'Sco delivery early afternoon..........no milk, onions, porridge, frozen peas and face masks! 🤦♀️😣 A trip to the SM on Monday 🙄 thankfully I can get the milk from our little village shop, so won't have to carry that very far.
LB I’m glad you were able to accompany Lily into the vs, always a worried mum when our pets are unwell. I hope the ant inflammatories work well and I hope she’ll rest and make a good recovery. I hope ongoing issues can be managed and she’ll feel better soon. Bless her and you for your action. Topbird as Hazel suggests a yew tree would be lovely but of course I’ll leave it to you to ponder and imagine how the space can be filled. I hope you’re feeling better. Hazel. It’s time I gave myself a haircut too.Lily I’m glad you were able to get on line after your initial problems. Ante I’m glad you’ve had a restful night. Wishing all goes well for your father and soon home. It does you the world of good walking with your dog. I remember my dog very well. LB I’m glad you slept well you needed that. Busy welcome back, sorry your plane was delayed, but good to be home with oh. Enjoy your stay. Topbird I hope you’ve had a wonderful birthday, Happy Birthday wishes🐣🙋♀️. Lily I dashed to the sm after a late start. Quite a few gaps, no McCain jackets. I bought some fish and they did have the bread I wanted. The sm not too busy. Biglad I hope you had some time.
Evening Everyone, Topbird I hope you enjoyed your delicious birthday lunch and found a suitable bell for the new bicycle, Sorry your Chinese Lanterns didn’t survive Hazel they sound to be fickle plants, nice that your daughter has been able to keep them, Oh dear SGL that was some crucial shopping items to be without, hope you can get what you need locally, Pleased Lilly is getting better LB, Been round to mums and was cutting back some over grown plants, filled the green bin and helped been a nice day.
@Songbird-1 I like looking around SMs, filling in a list on the Laptop isn't nearly such fun.
We had breakfast, bacon rolls, yum, and coffee in the village hall. Bought lovely English bread with a proper doughy middle, purple sprouting broccoli, big open mushrooms, apples (3 different varieties) from a local orchard, (all those unavailable in Dordogne), also cheese straws for OH, Florentines for me, sausage rolls and a joint of boned rolled shoulder of lamb for lunch tomorrow as I've invited friends. I'll cook it long and slow with herbs, onion and garlic.
I've strolled around the garden, there are things to do but OH has kept it going pretty well. The cottage is lovely and clean too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
SGL, sorry to hear that so many thing is missing from your delivery. I hope that you will get them soon.
Chive, how is your mum handling? I hope so that she is much better. It's nice that you had time for some gardening.
Weather is same like Hazel's. Cold and windy. I was at cottage do some chores. Again long walk with my dog in the woods. Now we are both in warm house by the fire. He is sleeping and I'm snoozing
Good grief SGL. The odd one or two items missing but that is a fair list there. As long as you have the milk for your cuppas. Busy, I agree with you. I'd far rather go around the SM than order online but I realise that home deliveries must be a Godsend for those who have no transport. You sound to have had a lovely day at the Farmers' Market and it will be so nice having a good catch up with your friends tomorrow.
Thank you all for the kind words about Lily. She is much improved today and has actually eaten something. For the first time ever she has taken to sitting on my knee - a totally unknown experience for me so its very sweet when she does. She had her usual walk around the shower cubicle too and has been glaring at the birds in the birdbath outside the front window. I am pleased to say that my Lily's TV event was very successful and all the wet cloth things got dried in the breeze. (Shhhh - no rain!)
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
LB I’m glad to hear Lily has eaten. How lovely for her to sit on your lap. I have had some rare occasions when Alfie has sat on mine, but he’s usually at my side. We’ve had our tea and unwinding for the evening.
