Afternoon All, LB Your journey home from town didn’t sound very good, glad you found a crochet hook to start the cowl I hope you are resting this afternoon, Hazel Your experience at the surgery was dreadful, it certainly sounds like confusion over the patients details they hold and as for so many in the waiting area that is worrying. Hope you are resting now after your ordeal and with chair wrestling, Rubee I’m pleased your OH is benefiting from the injections he is having that is good to hear, hope all goes well on the 05th November, Dove Oh dear your days are properly muddled, I’ve still to change my bedside clock so when I go to bed it should feel like an early night I think 🤔 Son is heading to Kings Lyn tonight for a weeks course, he is using my car as it’s better for a long journey, so I’ll have his little run around for the week I shall have to try and look cool 😎 Have a nice evening everyone.
I hope @bluebellsinthewild is ok haven’t seen her today, hoping the Wi-Fi connection isn’t playing up again. @Topbird Hope you and OH are both ok and you managed to find a race suit on your outing.
Hazel and Ruby, I have no ill effects at all from my booster this morning thanks but what a chapter of woes for you Hazel. I would have been seriously angry. Did you not have your reference number from your booking to show them? Mind you, they may use a different procedure where you are. I could not get in without my booking number issued by text from the NHS when I made my appointment. At least you have been 'boosted' now and you could vent all your spleen on the chair destruction - well done you and your OH.
Talking of clocks Chive. The place I went to get my booster hadn't altered their clock until about 5 minutes after I had been vaccinated. I hope that your son has a safe drive to King's Lynn tonight. Is it back to school for you tomorrow?
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Busy I’m sorry to hear your daughter is in hospital and that you are back to France on Thursday. You must be tired. I hope the heart tests are okay for oh. Do take care of yourself. Chive I’m okay thank you. I was feeling lightheaded earlier. Hazel so sorry to hear you’ve had another surgery mix up. At our surgery all the chairs have been placed together which I should imagine people are not happy about. I hope you don’t have any side effects. I had the Pfizer and so far so good. LB I know you were scheduled for your booster as well. I hope you are okay. Any luck with the crochet hooks? Chive I’ve had a relaxing shower and snuggled up on the sofa with Alfie, although he’s gone to nibble on biscuits. @star gaze lilyLily I hope you and oh are okay and sending my best wishes. @Topbird saying hello and how are you, sending my best wishes. Rubee wasn’t too great today after her fall the other day and had a pyjama day. She’s quite bruised. Wishing you all a good evening. Biglad I hope you managed to get into a comfortable bed rather than dozing off in the chair. Take care everyone.
Chive I hope your son enjoys his course in Kings Lynn. Some years ago I went for training in Whitman for a week. I had a lovely room in the White Hart Hotel and ordered strawberries and cream, although I was glad to be back home to Yorkshire.
Bussy, I'm sorry to hear that your daughter is in the hospital. I'm sure that your daughter and OH will be well.
Hazel, sorry that you had a problems with jab this morning. Have a nice evening and try to rest.
LB, I'm glad that you are well after your jab. I completely understand this mess with the clock because I feel weird whole day. This cartoon is so funny. The end is unexpectable.
It's time for dinner and tea. Today was so lovely day and tomorrow will be rain according to forecast.
Hello RosieBB. I am sorry to hear that you felt a little lightheaded today. That could be lack of sleep. I had the Pfizer vaccine today as well. I haven't found my main box of crochet hooks but found an odd one in one of my boxes so I did get started.
Ante, are you back to school tomorrow? Enjoy your meal and your Earl Grey. I would like for no rain tomorrow.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Evening everyone. Sorry I've been AWOL but I'm feeling a little low at the moment. We seem to have had little bits of bad news most days this week. Nothing that affects us directly but deeply affects those we care about.
A friend was admitted to hospital with pneumonia last Sunday - very poorly and the doctor told her on Thursday that they nearly lost her. She's only 59 and a marathon runner and part-time fire(wo)man - so very fit. A real shock. She'll be in for a while yet and (rather worryingly) she's on the Covid ward. Double vaccinated but I really hope she doesn't catch it...
Another young man (aged 19) that we sort of know was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma last summer. He went into Addenbrokes for more treatment last week but is now on life support. Apparently they were going to pull the plug on Friday but, because he occassionally comes to and still recognises people, they've not done it. Only really seen him to say hello to, but he seems such a nice person - what a waste. His girlfriend of 2 years is my friend's granddaughter. She's a lovely girl and, at the age of 18, is really struggling with it all. So unfair.
Various other things as well but it's all too gloomy and nothing we can do about any of it. Sorry to be such a downer. Spending nearly the whole weekend sorting out 3 big insurance policies definitely hasn't helped my mood either!
@Busy-Lizzie - I'm so sorry you have to dash off back to France. I know you feel permanently torn between here and there. I'll keep fingers tightly crossed that both your daughter and your OH come through ok🙂
LB - hope you feel ok tonight and tomorrow. How's Jack doing? I know he tested positive but is he struggling with any symptoms?
The dark evening came as a shock today - don't know why - happens every year! - but it's nice and cosy with the curtains closed and the fire lit. It's been a wild wet and windy day here.
