Good Afternoon all, I started typing this morning but ran out of time, SGL Iโm glad you managed some more sleep in the end, hope youโve lost the fuzzy feeling take things easy if you can,ย Ante How lovely to see a hedgehog in your garden, I can imagine your cats were very interested in this creature, Bluebells I hope your head is feeling better today & youโve managed to secure the loose floor tile. Interesting to hear you had a stay in Whitham not too far from here, always nice to go home. Our area is flat I love to see hills when travelling around,ย LB Glad your arm isnโt too sore today, I hope Jack feels better from the shingles soon, what a relief he hasnโt had any Covid symptoms. Sorry to hear the news of your friends daughter that is terrible for one so young. Rubee Itโs so easily done especially on stairs, I hope the aches & bruises start to improve soon,ย Topbird Iโm glad that sharing your troubles has helped, not always easy to do at the time ๐ค Yes the little ones will be talking tinsel all too soon, but we can atleast use Father Cโs good book as a way to encourage the behaviour we would like ๐๐ย Hazel You must be exhausted after all youโve done recently, will your new chair be arriving soon? Good excuse to try it out โ๏ธ Your poor dad that must be have been a painful landing,ย Biglad That dahlia is a beauty, a pleasure to see it flowering,ย Interesting to learn how the clock change came to be, I still prefer gaining an hour in Winter to the Spring forward it was nice to wake up to some daylight this morning. Have a nice evening everyone.ย
Evening all. Went for a little run out this afternoon (in the car - not Biglad actual running!!๐ฅณ) to deliver OH's bike to a bike man for some gear fettling.ย
The bike shop is in a very attractive big village (used to be a market town) crammed with lovely medieval timber-framed houses. The route took us through lots of pretty little villages and hamlets and with the sun shining on trees in their full autumn colours, it was an uplifting journey. ๐
Sometimes forget what a pretty part of the world we live in. It's also a part of Suffolk which is really rather hilly - very rolling and very un-East Anglian. Not quite Lake District hills but definitely akin to the Downs of Surrey and Sussex.
On our journey we passed quite a few pumkin displays from the weekend. A few were in a state of collapse like your pic LB - which was a bit sad - but there were some very good ones. A couple were a bit grim. One eating a baby with the baby's legs hanging out of its mouth (well ok - a doll's legs...) and the other with lots of chopped up pumpkin spewing out all over the step. Like this - ๐คฎ
Clever people๐
Chive - I hope you have the special notebook and sparkly pen in your pocket. You know - the ones Father C gave you so you could make a special note of who's been good and bad๐ The pen coming out might be enough to promote good behaviour๐
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
It was interesting day here. My cousin came by and we unexpectedly ended in Lidl. They took out all Ch****s assortiman. I didn't bought much, only few sweets and mulled wine. It was proper autumn day with fog and rain.ย I'm relaxing now with tea by fire.
I am very envious of T'Bird and Busy's sunshine but think that you both deserve it after your rather difficult times.
Hello Ante, my Bestie and I love mulled wine. Just the smells of all those wonderful spices as it is warmed can take you straight into that winter season. Glad you had an interesting day with your cousin.
Tonight is grey matter exercising night so I am signing out now. I hope that you all have lovely evenings and I'll see you all in the morning.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
LB - I'll always swap you and Biglad a bit of your rain for a bit of my sun and dry days. The garden is just so much better when we get a so-called 'wet summer'.ย
Now I don't need flooded ponds (like LB) unwanted ponds (like Biglad) but an additional 3 weeks of rain spread over the summer would be most welcome.

@Ladybird4 the little we were given for our first 2 Covid vaccines are identical to the one OH was given on Saturday for his booster. This time the card had a large sticker with all his details covering almost all of the card (So covered both 1 & 2 vaccines spaces)ย I'm sure a few months ago when the government were talking about having boosters, it was to be a yearly vaccine like the flu one.ย
Hope you feel better tomorrow @Songbird-1 sleep well

This afternoon I planted some daffodils, weeded and tidied the laurel bed, pruned an ivy and raked some moss and weeds off the car port roof.
Sounds lovely where you live @Topbird. We'll have to explore Suffolk a bit more one day.
