It's a grey, misty, damp sort of day, chilly too. I'm doing indoor things, changed the bedding, sorting of washing, ironing, packing for tomorrow. That won't be much, I only have a small under the seat bag, may have to tie another jumper round my waist and use Daughter's toiletries. May be able to buy some things at the airport, they allow you a duty free bag too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Bussy, I wish you a safe trip tomorrow and hope so that your daughter will soon be well.
I came home from walk completely wet. Rain caught us in the middle of the walk, and I didn't had umbrella. I also received a sad news that my first teacher passed away yesterday. Funeral will be tomorrow. With these news today's grey become more darker and gloomy.
Busy, if you don't get chance to pop in tomorrow, I wish you bon voyage. I have tried that wearing multi layers when going on holiday. Looked a bit like Snoopy at the start of today's posts. Ante, I am so sorry to hear your sad news about your first teacher. There are certain teachers we remember and cherish - those who gave us the inspiration to try that career ourselves or who had the ability to remain patient with us as we sometimes struggled to understand the lessons that they taught us. I hope that tomorrow is filled with memories of happier times.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Thank you Hazel and LB. She certainly left mark on all of us. It was ages ago but I recall that we felt like in second home with her in classroom. I only hope so that rain will stop a bit tomorrow.
As long as you always remember her Ante then she will have done her job well. I used to like it on parents evenings at school and children I taught - now grown up and parents themselves - would come in to talk about THEIR children. If they had been naughty in class they would be a bit embarrassed and would usually say 'I hope he/she is good in class. More often than not they would be.
The thing with children is they think that they have invented being naughty or mischievious and don't grasp that we teachers were quite like them in many ways when we were pupils in school.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Here is something to make you smile (I hope!) I'm sure that all of us must have been staggered when the words we type in a text or a post become sneakily altered by that dreaded predictive text. Even more staggered when we send the text or post the post before we even notice the typo. A friend of mine devised this:
The year according to predictive text
Janitor
Febrile
Marsupial
Apricot
Maybe
Juniper
Julie Andrews
Augury
Septic
Octogenarian
Novice
Decent
She says she was inspired by Lily who was butting my arm as I was texting her about December and wrote Decent instead. This is my friend who I used to take to Canasta but she has decided that she won't be going again as her eyesight has deteriorated even further.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Busy so sorry to hear about your daughter. As others have said, I hope she gets some needed help. It will be good for you to support her. I hope oh will be okay after his anomaly. Deep breaths and try not to rush. Have a good journey. Sorry to hear of a special teacher of yours. Take care Ante. LB, Rubee has worn a lot of hats over the years. Goodnight everyone.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
@Ladybird4 it amazes me at times what some words change into.
@Busy-Lizzie Safe journey tomorrow. Best wishes to you and your family.
Night night everyone, sleep well.
