Afternoon all - a very autumnal day here - sun, showers, chilly and leaves everywhere and we've just chased the first muntjac of the season out of the gardenπ€¬
Rosie BB - glad Alfie's ok. The choking thing that cats do always sounds worse than it usually is - but better safe than sorry. At least there was no fur ball end product for you to deal withπ¬
Debs - enjoy the wedding
LB - enjoy your trip out.
BL - good news that you're able to stay with OH after all. I do hope your daughter continues to receive the help and support she needs at this time. I wonder if the underlying problems at home were part of the reason she was so opposed to your selling the family home? Another unsettling and destabilising thing to come to terms with when she was unhappy at home? Perhaps the fact that everything is now out in the open will help everyone to come to terms with things and move on. I do hope so for your sake - family difficulties and frictions can be very upsetting.
Ante - sorry to hear the news about your old teacher. She sounds like a lovely influence in your younger life.
I also have some sad news to impart. The young lad with Hodgkin lymphoma passed away on Tuesday evening. Our young friend (his 18 year old girlfriend) is completely lost and struggling to cope. His condition deteriorated so very quickly over the last 2 weeks that it's all come as a tremendous shock to her.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Good Evening All, So pleased you have been able to stay with your OH @Busy-Lizzie especially after this anomaly was found on his ECG, I hope all goes well with the follow up scan. I can only echo what the others have said with hoping your daughter 2 is able to works things out with her OH, best wishes to them,Β Ante Sorry to hear your sad news, you will always have those fond memories of your teacher. Hope your dad is recovering well from his operation,Β Very sorry to hear your news @Topbird, so awful for your friend to deal with this loss at such a young age itβs very hard to accept. My deepest sympathy, i hope all are keeping warm, itβs bitterly cold & the fire has been lit.Β
T'bird, I'm so sorry to hear such devastating news. It's so hard time for his family and friends.
Bussy, I'm glad that you didn't travel to France and you can stay with your OH. It's good news that your daughter feels better.
I'm having tea and cake, despite my no sweets for dinner policy. It was exhausting day but at least it didn't rain. I think that after tea I'll go to watch tv on sofa and probably fell asleep.Β
@Busy-Lizzie what a wonderful turn of events. I expected you to be writing from France when I got back on here. It was good to read that the medication is helping your daughter and hopefully the discussions at her home will be amicable and positive.
@Topbird, I was so very sad to hear about the loss of that young life. His girlfriend will be inconsolable as it all seems the 'wrong way round'. Young people look forward to growing old together. My heartfelt sympathies go out to all the families affected.
@Chivetalking, it is freezing cold here too. Must get the heating on!
@Ante30, I find tea and cake bring a great deal of comfort at times so I class it as a necessity.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Had a lovely day with Bestie but despite our plans to go to the GC we changed our minds and ended up going to the little retail park near her home. We had the best mooch ever and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We pressed every button marked 'Try me now' and had a really great light and sound show. Bestie bought a pair of very chic boots and we bought various 'things' for the approaching big season. Chish and fips for lunch and we were happy bunnies. Her daughter was due to come with us but she was feeling a bit weak and tired so we met up with her once we got back to Bestie's.

@Topbird, I'm sure you are right. I didn't know her marriage was breaking down when I sold the house. But it had to be sold, I couldn't manage it anymore, financially and physically. It's so sad about the young man. My favourite brother died from cancer when he was 21.
OH has spoilt me. We went to Waitrose and he said to help myself to any food I'd like and he would pay. We have a delicious week coming up. He has also told me that he has booked lunch at one of my favourite pubs tomorrow.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Busy it s good that you can stay in uk with your oh . He will appreciate you being with him . I hope your daughter will be able to resolve her worries ,and itβs good to hear that the medication she is on is helping .TBird how awful that someone so young has lost his fight against that dreadful condition. I feel for his girl friend and family and you .Chive itβs very cold here.Ante tea and cake are a delight.
Ante Tea & cake is a perfect combination, just what you need after today have a lovely evening,
Nice and warm now LB π€ Sounds like you had good fun with bestie at the shops including a lovely lunch. Hope her daughter is feeling better, nice that you saw her after your outing, Busy That sounds like a lovely week to come, everything in that store looks delicious enjoy your lunch out tomorrow π Β Rubee How are you feeling? Hope some of the bruising has started to go now and the aches from your fall.Β
Busy, your OH must be delighted that you did not leave to go back to France and that meal out tomorrow will be another celebration for you both. Tomorrow the Quiz team are meeting up for our monthly meal out. This month's organiser is being very secretive about the venue. We have all been told to meet at his and his partner's bungalow at 13:00. I am picking up Bestie and her daughter and we all can't wait for the mystery to be solved.
