Afternoon people, finally back, vets first stopped in off in. ashdown Forest to give the dog a run. Took son for blood tests. First nurse couldn't get any, second one comes in. She asks what has he drunk,he says coffee glass of water after excercise. She says oh dear, Shame you drank coffee so that concerned him. Then he asks her why blood tests, she says its because of the medication he's on. He isn't on any!!! Great If you don't "know' the patients history, how about asking them! Did not go well! I had been through his mental issues with the receptionist a couple of days ago. He's been registered disabled 20 years, she asks what he does for a to living. Calls him by his first name, instead of asking him if that was ok
Just been reading about a local grand house type estate which had the mother of all water features. The original owners got people like Lutyens, Brunel and Paxton to help design it. There is a manmade lake with an underwater ballroom topped by a statue of Neptune on the surface. The tunnel leading to the ballroom was modelled on the Waterloo-Bakerloo underground line of the time.
How about a nice classical statue? They imported an 80 ton marble dolphin from Italy and hired a team of traction engines to bring it up from Southampton Docks as it was too big for the railway company.
The cost of all this is thought to be £1.85 million in the 1890s which would be £243 million adjusted for inflation.
Just wanted to say how horrified I am by the murder of Sir David Amess …. it’s absolutely horrendous … appalling … and so very sad on a personal and a national level.
I am sure that he and I would have disagreed about many things …. I think we would both have agreed on each other’s right to hold and express different views.

Agree Dove, awful. Big Birthday wishes to Fairy,(agree, autumn is pretty, inspite of it meaning "death" of leaves) Went in Ashdown Forest today,no sign of autumn here!
Awful news about MP Sir David Amess. A distant relative of mine, Stephen Timms MP, was stabbed whilst conducting one of his community surgeries in 2010.
Busy busy work week but off for a few days now. Proud to have delivered a teaching session today with 10 minutes notice and no notes!! Good feedback so my motto of “winging it” (my work team bought me a mug with that on) still going strong!

Guess what I'm trying tonight?
