I must be older than you, Lyn, the hair curling was when I was at junior school. I do remember girls at senior school ironing their hair! I was quite lucky then, if I grew my hair to shoulder length, it naturally went into perfect flickups all the way round! Not so good when the fashion changed to turned under, page boy, styles. Mine just couldn’t be made to curl the other way, and if I did manage, it wouldn’t stay that way for long.
I love the look of Seasalt clothes, but just not the shape for them. I do suit dresses with a waist, (while I’ve still got one! ) but I need skirts that reach well below my knees, don’t want to put anyone off their lunch or scare the horses. Very few of their styles were long enough for me.
Hello The car sailed through it's MOT without a hitch. It's 14 years old so it's kind of surprising but then it can't have done more than 200 miles since last year, so perhaps not really. It's had it's annual wash and is now sitting on the drive, waiting to go back into the garage, when I get round to it. Obviously it didn't go straight into the garage because I had to dash off as soon as I get home [CC refers ]
I quite like some Seasalt stuff but it's all too short - arms and legs at half mast. Apart from looking ridiculous, it's cold having your pulse points exposed and woolly socks is rarely part of 'the look'. I don't wear dresses. The waist is always on my hips so I look like a sack of potatoes with no waist at all. Even for my wedding I wore a skirt and top rather than a dress.
Oh and I had an 80s bubble perm - no soldering irons involved. My hair has never been quite straight since though. I mean, it's not curly, but it used to be 'straight as pump water' (according to my mother) and it now is distinctly wavy. I could never do the bob haircut thing - I tried but it always went out one side and in the other

Off out tonight for an event for our community organisation. One of our founders is fundraising via a big hair cut (donating her v long hair to the little princess trust and being sponsored for our fundraiser). Of course they've not been able to find a hairdresser and I offered half-joking to be back up as I've been doing some home haircuts for hubby and kids. Now I am actually going to be doing it I'm bricking it slightly! I have pointed out repeatedly that I'm NOT a hairdresser. Have promised to cut it straight enough that she doesn't need a hat tomorrow but told her to book an appointment with a professional ASAP 😂 Wish me luck...
Love the look of Seasalt clothes but they're pricey and I'm tight. They always have a tempting selection in the gift shop at Wakehurst, one day I'll succumb.

I buy in the online end of season sale and put them away for next year. 😉

Not all the Seasalt dresses are short, some are mid calf. I'm 5'3" so most are below my knees. I like that they have sleeves, not fond of the tops of my arms now that I'm over 27. @CharlotteF, everyone of a certain age on here is 27, just thought I'd mention it in case you haven't come across it yet.
Friend's new kitchen looked fabulous. She's a fairly recent friend who lives quite near and is actually the wife of the English builder who did my garage conversion. He did their kitchen. I got home in time for a late lunch and didn't get out as early as I thought to plant daffodils. Only about 50 planted today. The ground was pretty heavy so I removed some clay from each hole and replaced it with sand and compost. February Gold, Dutchmaster, Cheerfulness and Ice Follies.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Sounds a productive day @Busy-Lizzie and those daffs are going to look gorgeous.
We've just watched Location, Location, can't believe the size of some of those kitchens! Wouldn't like all the walking back and forth nor the cleaning!
Hope the big haircut went well @CharlotteF. If we don't hear from you we will assume it didn't and your 'client' did something horrid to you with the scissors! I only realised I couldn't do arms a few years ago when a photo of me appeared at some function or other and the light had somehow caught all the dimples in my upper arms. Have covered up ever since. I too visited a friend this afternoon who had her kitchen done during lockdown @Busy-Lizzie and I hadn't seen it since. It too was fabulous! They had knocked down a wall too so had a nice dining area in what had once been the 'rumpus room'. They used a local kitchen designer but he is a friend of theirs so knock down price. I keep meaning to ask this same kitchen designer to make us a plate rack for the space we still have for one, despite our own kitchen being done nearly 3 years ago now. I wore my yellow Joules raincoat (bought in the sale) round to hers. My friend has one too. I mentioned that another woman we know (disliked by both of us) also has one. Friend declared she will never wear hers again! Not me. I'm trying to get as much wear as I can out of my clothes these days.

Oops - dinner is served ... better go.
