Dove I’m sure your mil will appreciate your endeavours. Put your feet up tonight. Biglad enjoy those homegrown tomatoes. Rubee I did have a better night. Hazel enjoy your visit to your daughter. It will be good for her to see you and you to see her, not forgetting oh. Busy enjoy your day. LB I’m just back to make lunch. Wet out this morning.
Afternoon all. Very wet day yesterday thank goodness - I think it's the first rain the garden has seen in 6 weeks and it was parched after the recent hot spell.
Dry today but I'm busy packing the motorhome again. Just a long weekend away in Kent for OH to go racing and me to go and see some sights. Looking forward to exploring Rye and the harbour and going to Batemans to see the lovely gardens there (not been before). Unfortunately my friend who lives down there is on holiday in Wales so I'll be going on my own but in some ways I prefer to work to my own timetable...
Hazel - glad your daughter is feeling brighter🙂
LB - what a relief your OH has been given the OK. A case of playing the (more) waiting game now. Fingers crossed he's put towards the top of the list. My friend's sister has just had her second hip replacement. She's not even 60 and my friend (64) had her first one done 3 years ago. They're both really skinny and fit people so must be a genetic thing.
Mind you neither of them eat anything in the way of naughty food. Maybe all that calcium and cholesterol in cream, cheese, butter, chips and chocolate is good for you after all. In which case I won't need mine doing this side of 100🥳

Afters everyone . I have cut back my Rambling Rector for the first time ,got it the year before last .I have a heap of cuttings about 3x5feet it’s not solid of course , bouncy and you can see through it but I sure am not looking forward to chopping it up .A friend told me it grew very quickly ,she was right . I think I will make a cuppa .Can’t find my thick gloves .I am not touching the cuttings which I transferred into a heap with my shears ,until I buy some more gloves. TBird I hope the weather is nice and dry for your weekend trip .BigLad enjoy your relaxing afternoon.Enjoy the rest of your day everyone . Hazel I am sure your daughter will be pleased to see you .
Afternoon folks, I've been running around like a headless chicken this morning. Took my phone in as everyone sounds as though they are talking underwater. Had my eyes tested and chose new frames. Raced to my nail appt, I was 10 mins late but she still did them and then dashed back to pick up my phone. Now I'm back home for a sandwich and a cuppa. The sun has finally come out but can't see myself having the energy to do any gardening, might finish up Jonah's cardigan. Glad you OH has had good news BL. Safe journey home Dove Enjoy your next trip Topbird.
@Topbird … enjoy Rye … a favourite walk of ours when we stayed there to visit friends was to go down a track alongside the nature reserve, past an old fishermen’s tarry hut and onwards to the beach … lots of wild flowers, butterflies and birds. ❤️

Thanks for the tip @Dovefromabove. In Rye itself I'm planning to go to the church and Lamb House plus wander around the old streets and then a walk down to the red roofed hut (wonder if that's the one you mean) which will take me past the nature reserve.
I'll also find a few minutes to stop and look at Derek Jarman's garden on the way to the seafood shack at Dungeness. Dungeness is about 2 miles from where we're staying so t'would be rude not to pay a visit...😁
It's a strange area down there - very end / edge of the world feel to it. The nuclear power station and military buildings add to that. Taking my paint brushes (water colours and acrylics - not emulsion - before @Songbird-1 gets too excited🤣) - in case inspiration strikes.
Safe journey home from MIL's - she'll be pleased with all your hard work🙂
I've just removed the first 8m of box hedging😢 - need tea by the bucketful now.
Meant to say before Biglad - bet those tomatoes taste good don't they?
