Morning Dove, Ruby, Busy, Debs, T'Bird and SGL.
Ruby, you know me too well. I had to rescue a lovely but struggling Echinacea that was in the middle of a group of poor dead specimens. Such a shame. Its not raining here YET Ruby but I'm sure that it is on its way.
Debs, I have everything crossed here that all goes well for your daughter at the end of October - that does seem a long while to wait.
Busy, I do hope Caesar travels well - and safely to his new forever home. For your grandson:

T'Bird, I've noticed the rowan trees are absolutely laden with berries all around me. Many moons ago I remember my Mum and Dad's next door neighbour saying that many berries on the trees in Autumn meant it was going to be "a hard Winter"! I've just realised that I haven't spotted any summer visitors recently. The skies are quiet! I need to watch out to see if I can notice any swallows and house martins around. Just spotted that its heaving down outside! Grrr!

That is a beautiful colour LB . I would have been tempted too .
  • LB I had an early sm shop this morning. I bought myself a smart coat, muted greys, fully lined with pockets.  Busy Happy Birthday to your grandson 🐣.  Wishing him a good day.  The wild flowers and Hardy annuals sound like a good idea.  Lily I love the autumnal changing of colours too.   Debs I hope the transfusion works well for your daughter.   Topbird you’ll be glad to get Lily’s tv out of the way.   Alfie was playing in the bath this morning.  He was having a lovely time.
  • Hazel thank you.  LB as Rubee says, a pretty colour, to add to your collection🙂.
  • Have been in the garden for a couple of hours and  planted the smaller of the hydrangeas I bought during the week. Weeded and deadhead some roses.  Good job the garden bin is being emptied this Tuesday as its absolutely full to the brim.
Its brightened up this afternoon and the sun is shining.
@bluebellsinthewild your new coat sounds lovely.
@Ladybird4 don't blame you for rescuing  the plant, very pretty colour.
@Songbird-1 how is your daughter,  do hope shes feeling better today.

  • @Topbird 😊 yes he’s still with Wonky (moves at the end of the month) but he was on his way to Bury St Eds yesterday when he had to pull over because of the deluge. ⛈

Afternoon folks,  Got lots of gardening done this morning and lots of unmentionables done this afternoon.  Looking forward to the tennis this evening on Channel 4.
Hugs for those who need them.

Hazel and Yvie, I'll be joining you in watching the tennis. Go Emma Go! I've just finished outside and taken quite a bit of stuff to the compost bin. I banged my right shin on a terracotta pot which would have been hilarious if it had happened to some one else!
(Note to self: flowery language in a garden is not ALWAYS appropriate and it certainly doesn't make a knock like I got any less painful!). I did have to laugh at myself afterwards though.

I hope you don't have a huge bruise, LB.

I've finished stacking the logs. Did a bit more unpacking and arranging of stuff from the house move. There is more in the loft but I really need OH here to sort out his DIY tools and stuff and some of his office stuff.

Son 2 and family are coming to lunch tomorrow. I thought there were a lot of raspberries but they've gone squidgy after the downpour. Good thing I've got Magnum ices, 2 melons and fruit yoghurt. I've made salmon paté and we are having sausages and mash & veg. Children usually like sausages.
