Biglad I hope you went back to bed after dozing off in your chair. I hope all goes well at the match. I’m up early and having a cup of tea. I’m washed and dressed as I’m going to the sm early while it’s quiet. LB you don’t realise you’d have to change so much to go natural. I grew my highlights out and had a shorter style at the time in the days when I used to go to the hairdresser.
Good morning early birds Biglad (night owl!) and RosieBB.
Try not to fall asleep on the field Biglad! Have a good SM haul RosieBB. Flu vaccine this afternoon - must try not to forget! I also need to check out supplies at my petrol station as I think I might be running low.
Hazel, I agree, Autumn is definitely here. My Katsura tree has shed all its leaves and the all pervading scent of candy floss is delicious. Next week's forecast is predicting a marked drop in temperatures. Get those winter weight duvets ready.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning all. Off to Warrington soon for our wedding job. Sorry to hear about that elderly lady I am afraid it’s can be a very difficult time for all concerned I really sympathise. Is a care home an option?
Morning Debs. You might need waterproofs. Hope it all goes smoothly for you and that you and your Fiancé enjoy the time together - even though you will be busy.

LB flu jab time seems to have come round very quickly
Morning everyone, It feels a little chilly this morning. Looks a bit misty out there too. Bits and bobs to do indoors this morning. Hoping the sun appears at some point, need to sort out the last of the pots and move some behind the shed to keep warm during colder months. Think autumn is arriving here too. Have a good day everyone.
Morning Ruby. Hope you and your OH had a decent sleep last night. Is it just me, but every time I think about having an injection a picture of a leaky balloon pops into my head and I do have to have a little smile, visualising myself flying randomly round the room. Think I need another cuppa!

Good morning SGL and Hazel. You snuckered in there. Thanks for reminding me that I need to put my Nerines into the GH. I thought they were dead but they have just started growing. I am not holding out much hope of seeing any flowers.
You will have a lovely time with 23 Hazel, even though you might be tired later on - it will be worth it.

Hope all goes well with flu vaccine @Ladybird4. I'll be putting a couple of pots in the shed (it's a potting shed, so has a nice big window) to protect the little patio roses. The potted hosts can be tucked outside. @Songbird-1 have fun with 23. Hope your daughter is feeling better.
Thank you for the kind words regarding OH's godmother - who I shall just refer to as "R" from now on. It's a very sad and difficult time for her family. We're too far away to offer anything beyond moral support and just very relieved that it's not our problem to solve.
I couldn't believe how little notice they gave T of her discharge. Before hospitalisation she'd being having 2 care visits a day which T had organised privately. It wasn't a great situation but R was safe and settled in her routine with people she knew and it was the best option.
The care put in place by the hospital is a combination of NHS and Social Services care so visits are brief and done by a number of different individuals. There's little continuity and no real sense of care. R is diabetic so it's important that somebody monitors what she eats & drinks. Her blood sugars are all over the place and that plus (probably) dehydration will be adding to the confusion caused by her dementia or Alzheimers.
T has decided he will probably have to go back to using the private carers who spent time with his mum and provided a good continuity and quality of care. He knows that a care home has to be on the cards - but is struggling with the promise he made many years ago not to put either of his parents into care.
@Songbird-1 - I'm so sorry to realise this is so similar to what you're going through with your mum. There are just no easy answers are there? I do hope she is at least happy and settled at home. It must be very worrying for you to be so far away. At least T can pop in to see his mum 3 or 4 times a week and the 2 grandsons can do the other days.
Sorry to be a bit gloomy but we're both worried about our friend - he's very stressed.
LB - 'enjoy' your flu jab😁
Rosie BB & Biglad - hope you both have better nights tonight!
The sun is shining and it feels warm. Might have a couple of hours outside today.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
