Morning Busy. You snuckered in there. I have to make a list when I am packing to go anywhere and tick off as I collect the listed items. It does rather rely on me being able to remember what I want to take with me! Enjoy your trip. There will be some very excited young people in the car.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good afternoon everyone. Canasta/Rummikub made for a very pleasant afternoon. Managed to get some good games in then cake and tea for refreshments. I was very glad to get home though as I have been dashing around all day and feel nicely tired now. How is the flooring hunt going SGL and Ruby? Time for a cuppa.

Evening all Glad you enjoyed the Canasta LB - good to get the old grey matter ticking over againš
Hope BL and Dove both enjoy their breaks away. Know what BL means about the problems packing at this time of year. We've had a couple of mornings and evenings when it's been chilly enough to make me think we'll soon need to put the heating on for an hour or so to take the edge off. This afternoon, however, it's been really rather sultry. Won't pack the bench cushions away just yet...
Thank you for asking about OH's godmother LB. She's not doing too well I'm afraid. T received a phone call about 2 weeks ago while he was at work giving him 20 minutes notice (yes - 20 minutes...) that his mum was being discharged home.
So she's basically back home on her own with carers going in 4 times a day. She is constantly on the phone to T telling him she's hungry, needs the toilet etc etc. She is very confused & T's now getting complaints that she keeps pressing her emergency alarm to complain people are partying downstairs.
Nobody (least of all her) seems to know what she's had to eat and drink, she rarely gets out of bed and poor T is at his wit's end trying to run a business full time plus finalising the sale of said business plus dealing with all this stuff for his mum. Nobody knows how it's all going to play out.
A very hard and undignified time for everyone.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hazel the weather is set to get cooler and feel more autumnal with rain forecast. Ā Rubee so good to hear youāre both sleeping better. Ā It makes such a difference. Ā I didnāt sleep last night but went back to bed after lunch and slept for six hours. Ā I needed that. Ā You donāt always know if youāre cold because your tired or it is chilly when you donāt sleep. Ā Topbird all very concerning and difficult when someone is confused. Ā Itās not ideal for her to be at home. Ā Itās difficult to provide good care with fleeting visits from Carers even if it is four times a day. Ā LB itās good not to spend hours in the hairdressers and have an early morning booking. Ā Iām glad youāre happy with your hair. Ā Busy itās good to get to the end of a book before a trip away and start a new one. Ā Dove have a relaxing time after your gardening endeavours for mil.Ā
TBird so sorry to hear the news of oh godmother . Very anxious times .Ā
Hazel what a shame that you couldnāt find a suitable place for your new pot.LB yes we have found the carpet we like . We have ordered it and now waiting for fitting . Goodnight everyone .
OMG T'Bird, my heart goes out to you all in this dreadful situation. 20 minutes notice! How cruel. I find it so hard to grasp the complete insensitivity and apparent ignorance of the people who discharged the poor lady. What the heck is going on! Its horrible watching a loved one disappear before your eyes but the added difficulties associated with finding a safe and protective environment for him or her is very wearing. My thoughts are with you all.
Biglad I hope that the weather is kind to you tomorrow whilst you are carrying out your running around the field duties and for Sunday when fence building is on the cards. Is your daughter's BF going to give you a hand again?
Hazel . I did give some thought to the documents I would have to change if I went ahead with the 'au naturel' look. My passport, my driving licence, my bus pass (specially for 27 year olds you understandĀ ) I decided that it wasn't worth the hassle and have asked my Bestie and Darren to shoot me if I EVER make that suggestion again! You seem to have a nice project for the weekend. Hope we see a picture of the fountain once you are happy with it. I love the sound of the pebbles and you can always get a tall pond plant later.

RosieBB and Ruby, you both snuckered in there. Hope Alfie is better now RosieBB and I'm glad you have your flooring sorted Ruby. I wonder if SGL and her OH have been successful. I am signing out for tonight and I look forward to seeing all you lovely people tomorrow.

Evening everyone, @Topbird so sorry to hear about your OH godmother. 20 minutes notice is just disgraceful. I'm surprisedĀ he could get any sort of care team organised to look after his mum so quickly.Ā Ā Didn't find anything suitable today for the conservatory flooring, will try looking elsewhere. Glad you managed to find a carpet @Rubee. @Ladybird4 glad you enjoyed canasta. Hadn't thought about you having to change your bus pass etc if you went 'au naturel'Ā šĀ Like @Songbird-1 i probably wouldn't have recognised you either šš
Night night everyone, sleep well and sweet dreamsĀ
Completely predictably, I fell asleep in the comfy armchair and have just woken up Ā
Sorry to read about those with health/care issues. The one tiny consolation of having both parents die relatively young, is that I won't have to experience anything similar. I can't begin to imagine the frustration and suffering.Ā
@Ladybird4 the BBC forecast is currently pretty good so I better get my flippers on No cavalry on Sunday although OH might get persuaded that she's capable of taking the strain when she finishes work I've got to straighten up one of the concrete posts so that the next two panels fit first. Not entirely sure how I'm going to do it. At the moment, getting some rope out of the shed and playing tug-o-war is looking favourite. Followed by the purchase of a rubber hammer.

I went to the SM early doors this morning and have just finished an 8-6 'shift'. I feel like I've had an easy day only working 10 hours
Thought I was free for a weekend in the garden but, yet again, a Friday afternoon e-mail has resulted in running-around-a-field duties tomorrow.
Hope the weather is suitable for fence construction on Sunday!
Goodnight everyone .
