  • Oh dear, I really should not come on this thread. I have so much run out of room that I've been giving away roses on all sides. And yet I'm still browsing in case I find space for, say, a miniature rose... anyone got any recommendations??  ;)

Small Polyantha roses are very useful, like Marie Pavie and Nathalie Nypels, which I still have.. continuous bloom and shouldn't get in the way.  Roses of the Gruss an Aachen group,.. including Pink Gruss / Irene Watts, all top notch for small spaces.. as are Austins 'The Shepherdess' and 'Sir John Betjeman' if you like a deep pink/red..

.. yeah I know, I was upset to remove it, but after 10 years it just wanted to grow huge and I resented cutting it back every year.. wrong location, and I didn't have anywhere else for it..  a tremendous rose that outclasses any Austin I've ever had actually, on a number of levels except scent, it's a bit light on that..

I got Octavia Hill. I've always loved Marlorena's photos of it.

I would love to have Mme Antonie Mari but I would feel bad for not giving it the space she needs.

@Mr. Vine Eye What's the red rose with nodding blooms in the last picture/collage?

I really needed that cheer yesturday, them arriving is something to look forward to. We very suddenly lost one of our younger hounds today after a sudden illness. Vets did everything but nothing could be done. Only a month after losing our rescue, im absolutely devastated.  Lovely rose pictures as a way of Distraction very welcome.
