Yep it's the only plant in the garden with such issues. TBH it may be looking for a new home this winter... :)

..oh ok, thanks.. I've  had that one.. yes nice and compact, much shorter than most others.. I remember it well..
I don't have any in this garden.... I've just ordered a Philadelphus which has been seriously absent here for too long..

@Marlorena I love your Frilly Cuff and I am also thinking to buy the lovely Nathalie Nypels due to you pics, it seems amazing and always with lots of flowers (and I like the pink shade of it).

Parahebe Avalanche it’s also pretty, I could put it next to pink and red roses.

@Loxley I have a MAC too and it’s becoming  very very big.  I too am thinking of moving it this winter, not only it is kind of engulfing my front house, but its white flowers don’t go well with the wall colour. I will try to put it on an arch in the garden, but I think that eventually I’ll end up getting rid of it because it’s too big for me. Also, it need a lot of pruning to keep it in order and it keeps putting out those long canes… a bit too much for my garden mainenace routine

@dabolem, personally I wouldn't put MAC on an arch, it's far too vigorous and can climb to 20 ft (6.5 m?).

Also geranium 'Rozanne' isn't invasive as such. I believe it is a sterile geranium so doesn't set seed or 'run'. It can get long floppy stems though which can look a bit untidy by the end of the season but these can be easily cut back. I love it.

@Lizzie27 how right you are! Now that I think about it my MAC is already at least 5 m and it’s there only for 2 years. i really can’t manage it, far too big. Well, I’ll try to keep it for next year, where it is there space for it, what I don’t know is how will I reach for it to prune it when the time comes.

Anybody think I could let it climb over a palm? Is it possible in your opinion?

i am sure that sooner or later I will get to have a Munstead Wood, it’s truly amazing!

@Fire I don’t know where @Nollie got The Prince rose, I’ve not been able to find it anywhere in Italy, nor in Europe

Rosa Roald Dahl doesn't get mentioned much. Are there major downsides?

Also how bad is the blackspot on Munstead Wood? I know Nollie's have been blattered. Is that why they were going to discontinue it? Retiring for health reasons?
