...more of the same, mostly.. the recent heat has lightened some of the blooms.. 'Pirouette'.. 'Ghislaine de Feligonde'.. 'Pink Martini'.. smells of Tea.. 'Champagne Moment'.. 'Wild Rover'.. 'Munstead Wood'.. 'Duchesse de Brabant'.. ..wilting Hydrangea... not much rain here..
It has a moderate fruity scent - but I might not be fair, I find myself comparing the scent of all other roses with Harlow Carr (which is quite strong and can be felt from a distance). I like the colour and shape of the flowers and it repeats well. I have two, on each side of an arch. They haven’t grown a lot this year, but they didn’t look particularly good when I’ve received them as bare root. It’s a very healthy rose so far.
..thank you.. and what a picture ! fabulous with the statue and the blood grass arrangement at the front... I've got those black metal trellis's you have at the back there, I find they're so useful for all sorts of things.. ..thanks for the report, nice rose..
@Omori It’s a good, sturdy arch. What are you growing on it?
@Marlorena Thank you, the thunbergia has done a better job than I thought it would. I’ve grown it from seed a bit too early and it suffered from the cold. The trellis is very useful indeed, I was thinking of buying some more.
Here is the whole area. There’s a clematis behind the Buddha and two at the front, on the wooden trellis. It should look nice in a couple of years with the roses maturing.
@pitter-patter Ginger Syllabub and this clematis (Mrs. Cholmondeley). Ginger Syllabub is new and still tiny.
I’ve decided to start a cutting garden as I rarely can bring myself to cut anything unless it’s in a bad place. I cut these though 🙂 The larger flowers are as big as my hand. A mix of Just Joey, Red Perfumella, and Double Delight.
