Storms forecast for this area tonight.  English friends down - normally lunch tomorrow - on hold.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

  • Evening all,

Very heavy rain and dramatic thunder and lightning this evening. Very eerie golden sky. A little surreal.

I managed some actual gardening today. All good.

Very happy to see the tennis girl get through. I've been following since Wimbledon, seems like a nice girl.

@Hostafan1, you are a naughty chap, but forgiven, @punkdoc, you encourage him.

@Busy-Lizzie steady away with those logs.

@Liriodendron, sorry to hear about your cat, she looked beautiful.

The stray cat I rescued (and paid a lot of vet fees for) keeps disappearing, 3 days with me/4 days no sign of.... beautiful and friendly, but where does it go...

Obviously not really a stray DD!

  • Fingers crossed @punkdoc.
The rain has arrived here,  so far steady gentle drops,  let's hope it continues in this vein,  it will allow things to slowly rehydrate.  Volunteer day tomorrow as long as we don't get violent storms.

An amazing sunrise this morning … it looked as if the whole of the east was ablaze.

Good morning Forkers.   We have grey bits and have had a dribble.  Enough to wet the garden table but not lay the dust.   Supposed to get more with stormy bits late afternoon and all evening but seeing is believing.

Good luck @Hostafan1.  Hope it goes better than you expect.

Your stray seems to have a home with absentee/working owners @D0rdogne_Damsel and comes to you for company and fuss.

SM run for me today with a visit to the fabric shop on the way to buy enough to offer our members a fat quarter or two when they sign up for the new season next Monday.  No doubt I'll see something for me too.......

  • Another hot & sticky night, and now back to grey and dull.  Volunteer day must dash,  have as good a day as possible.
