Indeed @raisingirl. Shocking. As usual, the onus is being put on women to defend themselves. As for the 'advice' being touted [by the police force] about asking to use their [police officer] radio to check if they're legit, or flag down a bus.... Flag down a bus. WTF?Â
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

What bus? Other than a school bus I've seen 3 go thru our village in the 5 years we've been here and that's 8 minutes' drive from our house.
I'm with @Fairygirl. Women should not feel vulnerable or be unsafe because some stupid male can't control his urges. Equality and respect for everyone regardless of sex or ethnicity need teaching from an early age both in the home and at school and it needs reinforcing at every stage of life. It needs extra reinforcement when training police officers, NHS staff at all grades, teachers, social care at all levels and public services too.
Such training from the ground up would also do a lot to reduce bullying and exclusions at school and be an all round winner for society..
I know there's a saying "No such thing as a stupid question, just stupid answers" but I'm starting to dispute that. I was on a travel site earlier and somebody asked what the fuel situation will be in November. You don't need a travel site you need a clairvoyant!

😆 So funny in an inappropriate way. No lone females been victims of murderers without an international pandemic right? Violence against and murder of women often has pandemic as a cause, right! Someone take her foot out of her mouth before it gets too far down she asphyxiates! Or second thoughts that's a judgement call, nobody would blame you if you didn't!Â
@Obelixx - it's the same principle as pregnancy. It's still seen as the woman's responsibility to be careful. I've often said that when 'they' talk about mothers having the conversation about precautions with their daughters, it's also a conversation they should be having with their sons. Fathers should be doing it as well. Parents should be having some very serious conversations with their sons about how to behave. Full stop. Sadly, there are parents out there who think it's everyone else's responsibility to raise their children too.Â

Minds are a very funny thing though,  we could teach our sons but there are certain minds that whatever we say, doesn’t register. I really can understand that bloke though,  he could have retired at 55 I think in the police force (could be wrong). He’d have had a good pension, now what’s he got,  his poor family must be in torment as well,  he took his kids to play on the place where the poor girl lay.  That’s one sick mind. Did you watch Manhunt?  He tried to pin it on his son,  I don’t think he felt any remorse for what he done for years. The Manhunt series has been superb @Lyn. Martin Clunes is excellent. The real life documentaries have been terrific too. The hideous consequences of all the errors need to be learned from, but sadly, humans will continue to make them. I feel for the family too. Beyond sick. Those poor children.Â
