I've posted on a couple of those threads, responding to the original questions, mostly, and pointing out one or two things that were definitely misleading,  but I've been biting my tongue and staying out of the rest of it.
I bit my tongue too, but I certainly wasn't going to let someone away with accusing me of being an abuser - not after what I've endured, and escaped from. A few people here are aware of some of it, but that's as far as I'm going. Not suited to a gardening forum.  :)

Wise @JennyJ.  That poster is clearly not going to see reason and is best ignored tho I agree with @Fairygirl about warning new posters that such behaviour is not normal or acceptable.
She’s doing the passive aggressive bit now 😀

I heard that too, it echoes what me & my wife were saying a few days ago, why would they want to come here for 12 weeks , when pay and conditions are better in Europe. Apparently there is a book out,  written by an ex public schoolboy,  saying exactly why ex public school types are the  WRONG  people to be in charge of the country. This is a classic case, they think the lower orders (as they see us) are merely a resource to be used, abused, & then discarded when no longer suited to their purpose.
Hasn't it been that way ever since 'Human Resource' departments replaced 'Personnel'?  The difference in emphasis of the terms is pretty clear.  One definition of 'Resources' is "a stock or supply of .......staff, and other assets that can be drawn on by a person or organization in order to function effectively."
It does leave out "....and then discarded when no longer useful/required"

I need to cut the grass but can't get any petrol for the mower!
  • Apparently the guests who left the next door cottage on Saturday left all the windows and skylights wide open. Not only did banging doors keep us and the folk the other side awake last night, but when the people arrived this morning to prep the lovely little cottage for the new holidaymakers arriving this afternoon they found rainwater everywhere… rugs are out in the garden,  dripping … water is dripping through the ceiling and wet-Vax and dehumidifiers have been brought in.
How can people be so downright selfish?   I hope there’s some sort of blacklist they can go on so that they can never rent a holiday cottage again. 😡

O H decided to give up on trying to get into Sainsbury's car park. All access blocked by the panicked ones.  What the supermarkets are gaining in petrol sales, they're losing instore.

  • I haven't seen any Q's for petrol myself ( probably because I haven't been out recently ) but I wonder how many of the vehicles patiently waiting their turn at the pumps keep their engines running whilst stationary ?  Plenty do exactly that round here and don't realise the issue of pollution let alone fuel wastage.
