It's funny how nobody values essential workers until there's a crisis caused by shortages because people don't fancy the working conditions or pay levels.   I suggest a 5 year freeze on pay for all politicians, local and national, and their "consultants" and a complete overhaul of pay structures and working conditions for supply chain workers from pickers and packers to warehouse staff and lorry drivers.

Ditto essential social carers too from cleaners to nurses, porters to technicians, ambulance and paramedics, fire service and police but not the managers until every hospital and social service department is fully staffed and working efficiently in decent buildings and conditions.

No pay rise for politicians till we see results.

    Dear Lorry Drivers.
Please think fondly of me as I enjoy my £200k renovation of No10 while you poo in a hedge beside a busy road before taking your diabetes medication because we hadn't considered you important until now. Sorry about the lack of shower facilities. Chin up lads.
    Love

That really made me laugh out loud. Thank you.

    Indeed @wild edges.
I know I commented last year, or very early this year about the situation foreign lorry drivers faced just before Christmas because of the lunacy at Dover. As soon as France decided they could cross, it was all just a case of 'oh well that's fine, onto the next story'.
No one bothered to mention that these men [and the odd woman] were still stuck there in their lorries over Christmas because of the backlog, while folk here in the UK were moaning about not being able to get a turkey or some such billhooks. Not much better for the ones who did get across and were still travelling to get home, while the selfish clowns were moaning relentlessly. Jeez.   :|

Just reported a poster, and recommended they be removed from this forum for offensive language. A bit harsh, as I’m sure they have Aspergers, but still not acceptable behaviour.
having a moan on the curmudgeons thread, as I had used the ignore button last night, but then got tempted to unignore them, so I could see what the latest spew of vile stuff was. Why do I do this? Have I no self control whatsoever, or am I just incurably nosy?

Incurably nosy,  or like me you just want to see what drivel she’ll come out with next.

The problem is that if regulars do the 'ignore' thing, then new posters with requests for advice could be met with the spewings and lack of knowledge of this troublemaker. It would ruin what is a good resource for genuine gardeners.

I probably have aspergers/asd. I do have a general sense of confusion about social communication, but also pay close attention to trying to decode unwritten rules for how it works. That very much doesn't seem to be the case here! You're probably right but I suspect there's a whole lot more to this situation 😞

Edit: oh and for me it's my incurable nosiness!

I also have Aspergers/autism [although not severely]  @Ergates, and so do my daughters, but this behaviour is beyond anything I've ever seen or known.
They're certainly very proficient at cutting and pasting....

@Woodgreen - this is why I removed myself from the main thread in question, although I made a brief post earlier today just to inform another new-ish poster of the situation. The other thread about hedging is yet another load of 'spouting' and abuse, mainly directed at me. I know many people have reported this person.
    I don't think it's a woman, despite it's protestations.   :)

  • China are short of 2milion drivers. Would be nice to NOT  have a grump! Grandkids were sharing grandad s big recliner in the conservatory,so he sat in my smaller chair. They moved I sat in his, bump on glass, both looked up, expecting bird has hit outside. WRONG! a starling inside flying round panicking s****** everywhere, including my lovely white Lacey top. Removed it straight away, scrubbed in that special stain remover stuff, have had to remove roof blinds to wash. Hubby removed bird with net, flew off.

@CharlotteF - sorry - we  posted at the same time there.
I'm sorry you had to be on the receiving end of that idiot's abuse.
I would have PMd you, but they're desperately hit and miss for me just now for some reason.
