For Heaven's sake. Have you any idea how hard it's been for retailers of all kinds in the last year or so? Staff get ill you know, because there's been a worldwide pandemic in case you hadn't noticed. There are shortages of everything for all kinds of reasons, depending on where they come from. Cut folk some slack I knew I shouldn't have looked at this thread today.Â
Actually I'm not sure bandq were any good before pandemic. Besides I don't agree with allowing them to use the pandemic card. Many DIY stores have operated short staffed for many years already. I remember playing the "hunt the staff" game. The best way to win is to find a staff member already cornered by a customer and hover so he or she cannot disappear once they've sorted the other out. Then They never have stock preferring ppl to buy online anyway. Much easier and cost effective than holding n stock in stores.Â
We got that small delivery at the end of the week, just because of daughter [s] isolating, and I felt it was wise, even though I tested negative. I don't use them otherwise, but I was impressed. Quite a lot of people round here are still getting deliveries - I presume because they're finding it less stressful than physically going to shops. I can't say I blame them. Just being pleasant to staff -who are putting up with some hideous behaviour on a regular basis- is a simple thing we can all do.Â
Our 2 'local'Â B&Qs are both excellent. I'm in there a lot, and I've spent a fortune in there over the decades they've been in existence. Rarely a problem at any time.Â
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
My B & Q grump was 6 years ago.Not Covid related. All my old colleagues worked through at my old hospital, one of the staff young 40s in UTI.my Lod man's just watched it,and God that blasted commentator screaming,!!! I might be ugly, not I'm not, nasty, bad mannered. I let a couple of folk go before me shopping because they had small amounts. Going to be a bit wary now though, expect you remember earlier in the year my elderly friend I took for GP, clinic, Hospital, jabs, ran up a tab of over £250 when I did his shopping  I need to be stronger and learn to say NO!
Go to the shops: smile, thank people, hold open doors, people will think you are mad, but it is a great way to make you feel happier. It works, honest.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Hold open the door for one and your get a stream of ppl through in some places. That doesn't make you feel good. It let's you know that for every nice, considerate person like you there's 6 so and so's or perhaps more if it's busy. I'd rather not know that. And I'm a positive person too!
Our main difficulty with delivery's was short dated, and or produce that was "off". We were always polite to the drivers, but some of the customer service staff were very poor so got the full measure of our ire. Our main frustration was that all we got were the usual platitudes, it never really improved. We have gone back to shopping in person now.
Reading a suggestion this morning that Emma Raducanu is to get either and MBE or OBE! ****ing (insert the appropriate replacements for the *s) ridiculous, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. What she did was incredible but that suggestion surely can't be serious - can it?
