That kind of language is abusive and will always be offensive. What annoys me is the appropriation of totally serviceable words by interest groups who change the original meaning to reflect their view of the world. I attended an 'awareness ' course once. Practically everyone who tried to express a view was interrupted by: "That's a very interesting point but do you mind if I call it / rephrase it........" Actually, most of us did mind. Without thinking or malicious intent, the use of some adjectives or adjectival phrases can cause offence. These should, of course, be pointed out . I find "That's a bit Irish" or " He's an educated Irishman" offensive.
I love that she expressed milk for her baby along the way and still won the Montane Spine Race outright. It made me laugh out loud. "Run like a girl" indeed. You wish!
There seems to be a lot of women winning things who are new to their sport that had no idea they weren't supposed to go so fast.
