    Morning all.

    Another good pic LB  :D

It rained in the night, not enough yet.

P (previous owner) has turned up. He's going to have another session with Caesar and the horse trailer and also make a start on grouting the outside stone walls of the dining room. He's brought scaffolding. I will be paying him for that. He is only working part time at the moment because of his shoulder that was operated on. He's also going to put together the flat pack cupboard that was delivered this morning, with my help. That's part of the trouble of moving from a house with built in cupboards.

LB you must be on the same forums etc as my brother ...  he sent me that picture on Tuesday 😂
Hope Caesar's rehoming goes according to plan @Busy-Lizzie.
Now I need to wash my jacket ready for our holiday, and OH's lambswool  sweaters ... busy busy busy ...
Have a good day all  :)

  • LB a good picture, love the reference.  Lily the rain is forecast this afternoon so I’m giving the gardening a miss and tidying up after Alfie.    Busy I hope Caesar won’t be too distressed going in the horse trailer.  I was up last night so I went back to bed early hours and slept.  I visited the rellies this morning and back to give Alfie his treats. We were talking about past generations and remembering them.  Dove I had a merino wool twinset but I found it itchy so I have acrylic jumpers now.  Have a good day everyone.
  • Oooh Bluebells ... it's acrylic that makes me itch ... funny how different folk can be     :D

Afternoon everyone. Had a great time at Bestie's and managed to escape most of the rain. It was dry here when I got home but is very dark and I think it may rain soon.
@Dovefromabove, this is the only forum I am on and a friend sent that picture to me. I laughed so much as it reminded me of my great aunts up in the north east - even down to the tabard tops and head scarves - the picture could almost have been taken in their back yard.

Just had a huge downpour. Slight leak in a spare bedroom, kitchen gutter needs cleaning and P. has dug out a drain in the lower terrace. It drains under the front garden to the ditch outside but the chap who came to cut the verges a while ago with his big tractor thingy had driven over the entrance and blocked it, now sorted. Glad P. was here assembling my flat pack cupboard. Still raining. Glad I came in from log stacking just before the downpour, really torrential.

Have just made a lemon courgette cake.

Busy, that lemon courgette cake sounds delicious. I'm glad that P. was around to assist with the drainage. Sitting in the middle of a fierce storm here. Glad I'm home. I'm supposed to be going out tomorrow to play canasta for the first time since the first lockdown but if the weather is like this I might be passing on that trip out. I hope that it does clear up as I have missed the U3A meetings.

Evening all. We've made it as far south as Boroughbridge and have been chasing showers all day - just had a tremendous thunderstorm but it's clearing through now. Fingers crossed that's it for tonight - not much fun trudging across to the loo through the grass in the rain!

Should be home just after lunch tomorrow when I think Lily's TV will start earning its keep big time....

Loved the chat room cartoon LB.

Looking back at my pics I feel nostalgic for Scotland already. That last photo was taken from the terrace of The old Pier House at Port Appin. It's an excellent seafood restaurant (the smells were mouth watering) and (while we didn't indulge in the food) we enjoyed a long cool drink from the bar while watching the comings and goings.  Perfect afternoon 😎

What a coincidence  LB … its obviously one that’s doing the rounds and appeals to a wide cross-section of folk … it is very funny 🤣

Evening T'Bird. I think we are all falling foul of the thundery weather to varying degress today. I'm sorry that your OH had to abandon the cycling earlier but it seems a sensible decision. Whilst you are in Boroughbridge will you have chance to visit places like the Butter Market Museum and the standing stones?
