Busy, gardening activity is completely acceptable. Any form of h*******k is not.
Debs the acer sounds beautiful. I would be tempted to put it straight into the ground at that size but it will look beautiful wherever it is.
p.s. I must admit that I assumed you were going for a Japanese acer. I have a Crimson King that I got as a sapling from a huge one in my Mum and Dad's garden when they lived in Wales. Mine is about 7m tall and a few years back I took out the leading shoot to keep it smallish but I may have to do that again.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
That looks a lovely tree @debs64 must admit I thought you meant a Japanese Acer too. I don't iron towels or underwear, but I do iron most things as I can't bear creases. Just watched Vigil, quite a few twists and turns.......Just like LOD 😉Â
Will say goodnight too. Sleep well everyone sweet dreams.Â
Good morning everyone. Boy was it scorchio last night! Very hard to sleep in. Vigil - one word SGL - brilliant! Is anyone watching the new Silent Witness series?

Good morning all. I think a Japanese acer was the original plan but he has a large garden and it’s a beautiful tree. It can stay in the half barrel for a year or two then go into the garden. He lives out in the countryside in a rather windy and exposed spot so hoping this one will fare better than the rather more delicate Japanese type. It’s a special 60th birthday gift so we want it to thrive.Â
Off to get my hair bleached and cut it’s been so long it will be a shockÂ

I am allowed to say that I hoed the veg garden, planted 2 plants and mowed the grass, aren't I?
The acer is a lovely present, Debs.
