Ā Busy I’m glad you can get in the carport and hope the drive is soon finished. Ā Hazel baby hedgehogs are so lovely. Ā They can eat cat food. Ā Debs I’m relieved to hear your fiancĆ© is okay after his accident. Ā I’m sorry to hear about your daughters dress, but I’m glad another one has been chosen. Ā Sending my best wishes. Ā  Lily I hope you and oh will soon be out on a walk.Ā
  • Hello all .... sorry about your run of rubbish luck @debs64 ... hope brighter days arrive very soon for you.ā˜€

It's been a busy morning here as I was going shopping but the car battery decided it'd had enough ... I had been a bit suspicious it was on the way out for a couple of weeks ... anyway a nice man from the AA was here within 20 minutes and fitted a new battery so I went straight off to the farm shop and butchery and did the shopping.Ā  Now I'm hope and everything's packed away, pots etc have been watered and normality has been restored.Ā  Time for a late lunch.

    Have a good day all.Ā

You seem to have bad luck with car batteries and good luck with the AA @Dovefromabove! I remember that happening with your old car when you came to us for coffee.

The GC didn't have any spring bulbs. She was surprised I asked, said it's way too early and they arrive October/November! I thought September was daffodil planting month.

  • Afternoon everyone,Ā
Sun is shining this afternoon and its really quite warm.Ā
All ok for OH at opticians. We then popped in the SM and managed to get everything on our list except pears šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøĀ
Didn't need much just every day bits like bread, butter, fresh fruit and veg.Ā
There were some empty shelves, which I think were pasta, biscuits, home baking etc. Also noticed the chocolate type sweets were pretty empty too.Ā
Hope you've all had a lovely day.

Good afternoon everyone. HadĀ  a wonderful meal out with the Quiz team members. I am beginning to think that my stomach has shrunk as I just cannot finish a meal any more - even the light bite menu. I went for scampi this time and it was delicious. The converstion was hilarious - as it always is when we 8 get together. When we got back to Bestie's her daughter-in-law arived with Sofia so I was finally able to hand over Nemo. Sofia went all shy on me but whispered to her Mum that she though he was 'nice'. I was pleased she finally got it.
Debs what an absolute pain that wedding dress has been. I do hope that your daughter is pleased with the replacement and that her wedding is not blighted with this unpleasant episode. I was also sorry to hear about your fiancƩ. I hope that his bike also came away from the accident relatively unscathed.
Busy, you are correct, September is the best month for daffodil planting. They need to get a good root system formed. The later tulips are planted the better. Did you escape the thunderstorms?
SGL, at least you managed to get the staples in the SM but a worrying lack of chocolate is aaarrrggghhh!
Hazel I'm so pleased that you got your fern. I remember you talking about it a few years back. Maybe he will still have some the next time you go to the market and you can buy another one.

Hello all. Just finished work. Thanks for all your kind comments. FiancĆ© is still working as hard as ever despite the bruises. I am helping him do a wedding tomorrow. He is staying calm and cheerful as always I would be a nightmare if in constant pain. Daughters new dress is very lovely and she should be able to sell the other one. She just felt it was ā€œ unluckyā€Ā
Hazel that fern story made me smile as I remember fiancé’s mother having a conversation about how much she wanted a ā€œMaidenheadā€ fern ( the old word for virginity) and me trying to keep a straight face!Ā
Sounds like you are all enjoying the last of the good weather and longer days.Ā
  • Lily I’m glad all ok for oh at the opticians. Ā Hazel I like maidenhair ferns, a good buy. Ā LB sounds like you had a lovely time. Ā Goodnight everyone, sleep well.
