Hello all .... sorry about your run of rubbish luck @debs64 ... hope brighter days arrive very soon for you.ā
It's been a busy morning here as I was going shopping but the car battery decided it'd had enough ... I had been a bit suspicious it was on the way out for a couple of weeks ... anyway a nice man from the AA was here within 20 minutes and fitted a new battery so I went straight off to the farm shop and butchery and did the shopping.Ā Now I'm hope and everything's packed away, pots etc have been watered and normality has been restored.Ā Time for a late lunch.
Have a good day all.Ā

You seem to have bad luck with car batteries and good luck with the AA @Dovefromabove! I remember that happening with your old car when you came to us for coffee.
The GC didn't have any spring bulbs. She was surprised I asked, said it's way too early and they arrive October/November! I thought September was daffodil planting month.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Afternoon everyone,Ā Sun is shining this afternoon and its really quite warm.Ā All ok for OH at opticians. We then popped in the SM and managed to get everything on our list except pears š¤·š»āāļøĀ Didn't need much just every day bits like bread, butter, fresh fruit and veg.Ā There were some empty shelves, which I think were pasta, biscuits, home baking etc. Also noticed the chocolate type sweets were pretty empty too.Ā Hope you've all had a lovely day.
Good afternoon everyone. HadĀ a wonderful meal out with the Quiz team members. I am beginning to think that my stomach has shrunk as I just cannot finish a meal any more - even the light bite menu. I went for scampi this time and it was delicious. The converstion was hilarious - as it always is when we 8 get together. When we got back to Bestie's her daughter-in-law arived with Sofia so I was finally able to hand over Nemo. Sofia went all shy on me but whispered to her Mum that she though he was 'nice'. I was pleased she finally got it.
Busy, you are correct, September is the best month for daffodil planting. They need to get a good root system formed. The later tulips are planted the better. Did you escape the thunderstorms?
SGL, at least you managed to get the staples in the SM but a worrying lack of chocolate is aaarrrggghhh!
Hazel I'm so pleased that you got your fern. I remember you talking about it a few years back. Maybe he will still have some the next time you go to the market and you can buy another one.

Hazel that fern story made me smile as I remember fiancĆ©ās mother having a conversation about how much she wanted a āMaidenheadā fern ( the old word for virginity) and me trying to keep a straight face!Ā
