Good morning Rubee, Debs, LB, Lily, Dove, Hazel and all to follow.  I hope you all slept.  Yvie enjoy Gabriel’s party today.  The young ones will be excited now.  Get some time to rest over the weekend.  LB I hope all goes well helping Jack with the panels today.  Don’t do any twisting.  Lily it’s chilly here too, enjoy your sunshine.  Dove I slept well last night but definitely a chilly morning.  Debs I hope the wedding goes well today.  Enjoy your day. Â
I'm going to an English run GC that is having an open weekend with guest plant sellers. I haven't been before as it's a 40 min drive. It will take ne nearer Angoulême where there is a big GC so I may have a look at that too. On the hunt for daffodil bulbs and an Amalanchier, but, as this is France, they probably won't have them yet.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Well, having waited until I guessed Jack might be up, I gave him a call to see what time he wanted me to come over. He has decided that he is not up to doing the job today as his tinnitus is playing up so the fence panels will wait for another time. I have got my curry sorted out and in the slow cooker so I think it must be time for elevenses now.
Morning SGL, Ruby, RosieBB and Busy. Busy fingers crossed that you get what you are after but I'm sure that you will enjoy the browsing too.

Hazel you both did well cycling with it being a while. Â Good to get some fresh air though. Â LB enjoy your free time. Â The curry will be very welcome tonight. Â Busy I hope you find your daffodil bulbs, even so it will be a good trip out. Â I visited the rellies this morning and have been playing soft ball games with Alfie giving him some exercise before his nap. Â Catching up on paperwork today and some reading, a book called Ancestors Stories by Aminatta Forna described in one review as a magical book.Â
Afternoon everyone. Respect Hazel, I am impressed by your bike riding. Even if I could remember how to ride a bike, the traffic would frighten me. Hope you are not too stiff tomorrow.
Rosie I had a cat called Smokey once who used to 'fetch' a little ball I threw for him. He could play for hours.
Yvie that cake looks scrumptious. I'll bet it disappeared quickly too! Colour is perfect.

Not surprised that cake went down well @Yviestevie!
I went to the Nursery Open day and the big GC. I didn't find what I wanted but I bought a red Penstemon, a Salvia Azuria (looks a bit like Uliginosa) and an Amsonia Hubrichtii (never heard of it, have a different sort in Norfolk) at the Open Day.. The big GC was very poor, plants in bad condition and very expensive. A clematis viticella Mme Julia Correvon, with a lot of dead leaves, cost 35€!

Goodness me Busy, that is hugely expensive for a clematis. Has your OH heard any more about his operation?
I got a text yesterday from my GP inviting me to book my 'flu vaccine and giving me the number to call. When I tried calling I got a message saying that 'This number is unobtainable'. I've since heard on the news that Doctors are having to cancel these injections because of a shortage of drivers to deliver the vaccines. I'll try ringing again on Monday. One of the Quizzers, who was with us for our meal on Friday, is a retired GP and he was saying that some places were not able to do blood tests as there is a shortage of the bottles they use for the samples.

I am signing out for tonight as I think I will go and read as the cricket is almost finished for the day and there is nothing else worth watching on the TV tonight. See you all tomorrow people.
