La Vuelta has been keeping us amused. Hubby recorded it overnight so we could watch it in comfort today.   The scenery looks very much like our dry country. Very different from France and Italy that we watched with those races.   We can still watch our favourite riders too.
I'm not aware of that one @Pat E ... I can see that watching the bike races is a good way to see various countrysides ... I'd not thought of it like that.

Morning all, my you have all been very busy this morning! I don't seem to have done much at all, the weather has turned cool and showery but not enough rain for the garden.
Chatted with Daughter last night, her OH's parents both late Eighties have bad "flu" symptoms, she has gone to hospital and husband has refused to go, I think we are now awaiting results of Covid tests.
    Catch you all later.

Yes, Dove, we watch the tour of Spain every year for those reasons as well as the pleasure of watching  the races. 👏

I do agree, Pat E, we often watch both the Tour de France, the Spanish version, and of course the Round Britain tour, purely for the scenery. Not for the cycling, as I’ve never been able to work out the rules!

I meant to tell you of a funny moment when horrible Sis and even more horrible BiL were here on Sat.
I was showing them pics of our Grandson, then one of Daughter and Future Son in Law. The deafening silence when they say that....... shock horror....... HE'S NOT WHITE!!!!!.
"And here he is with his brothers".... You could hear the tumbleweed.
Bigots through and through , lol
    I though it was hysterical.

Very envious of those of you living / growing up on the Detectorists location. English countryside at its best. It was wise of Mackenzie Crook to leave us wanting more, but I hope he will direct some more of his immense writing talent to some new projects for us to enjoy. Such likeable characters, so true to life and utterly believable. Sigh!
Hostafan, don’t overdo it. Five hours sleep was an improvement, but don’t let that go to your head. Off to bed with you as soon as you can.

There had to be some perks @Hostafan1 ... a generous dollop of schadenfreude was obviously your treat of the week  :D   They are now members of a 'multi-ethnic family' and there's bu$$er all they can do about it.  B)

I couldn't walk away,I was sitting in a drawing office, the only female in a specialist building company who made suspended ceilings, large premises like shops. I ignored the bum pinching, cheeky sexual remarks, then one day 4 of them locked me in with them and were obviously going to take things lot further. There was a young girl on the switch board,I beat on the door screaming for her to call the police. She just say there with her mouth open,I got away and ran out. Didn't even stop for my bag. When of the builders,a nice chap ran me home asked what I was going to tell my now ex husband. Well, the truth of course. That was the best paid job I'd ever had.Theres something about being blond with double DD's!

Of course you could have walked away ... you could have found another job. as soon as that sort of behaviour started. You shouldn't have had to, I agree ... but that's what I would have done.  Better to take a drop in wages than be in thrall to that sort of treatment.

    Hi all
Things a bit fraught here, internecine war has broken out amongst Moira’s siblings about what should be done about their Mum, and Moira is taking it very badly.
Very sad about Afghanistan, I was there twice during the Russian conflict and I thought it was a stunningly beautiful country with lovely people.
    Hope you are coping @Hostafan1
How can you lie there and think of England
