Someone needs to explain the economic facts of life to her @punkdoc .  Difficult.

It is wet here and quite blowy and the sky is a funny colour.  Cold too.

    Evening folks.

What strikes me about any ‘care at home’ arrangement is that what can be offered on NHS/social care is very basic and sparse with no choice on times etc. (Round the clock care isn’t offered unless rare circumstances, like you are on a ventilator). This can all make for a very difficult and upsetting situation particularly when the person won’t accept more or different care/help. I have seen it both personally and professionally and it all makes me dread old age/ability-limiting illness for myself and my loved ones. My heart goes out to Punkdoc’s wife, and anyone else with similar issues.

Well the weekend starts here for me. Rain forecast so bit disappointed. Going to watch BeechGrove with some chocolate now.

    Take care all.

We found the well respected Practice Nurse to be very good at explaining the facts of life to Ma.
As Ma said, ‘she understands things … I can’t expect my children to understand … they’re my children’.  Adults of whatever age, particularly those advanced in years, do not often expect their children to have common sense, let alone wisdom.

IME they’re far more likely to take notice of their daughter when they’ve forgotten who she is and mistake her for the family solicitor.
