Good morning all Happy anniversary @Hostafan1 and lovely OH xx it will be lovely to share your day with some visitors, maybe they can help with Hosta planting?!
Welcome back @SilviSherr glad you had a lovely time away!
Hey @punkdoc sorry you and Moira are having such a challenging time, hugs to you both
@AuntyRach enjoy your week off work! Chocolates and gardening programmes seem a good start to me!!
Still getting my back in order, taking a while, I'll go back to gardening work Monday, I'll just do my ironing work today and go gently! 2nd coffee first though!!
We've just had a very brief beam of golden sunshine but now it's blocked out by the very dark grey stuff. OH has just found a frog hopping about in the hall and released it outside and then gone off to play golf. No rain forecast today so, of course, it is persisting down now.
I had to be on parade early - for me - so he could help me move a table out of the way and I've already polished up the cabinet I waxed yesterday. More such fun later but first I need to steam clean the ceiling (tongue and groove pine) and give it a wood wash to lighten it.
The summer is really proving worthless this year. Hot today (29°C p.m.) then grey and rainy tomorrow and of course a drop in temperature. I wonder what the winter has in store for us?
Happy Anniversary for the decade you have been together @Hostafan1 Hope you have made a special cake to share with your visitors today!
@Obelixx Yes, the weather is certainly not for growing peppers and aubergines!! (Although mine are coming along nicely). I grew some mini red and green peppers too this year. Perfect for light grilling and stuffing with goat's cheese. Go well with a well-chilled Prosecco - easy does it on that too!! I net everything the pigeons or birds can get into, especially freshly sown seeds. I grew Mesclun this summer and am well happy with the result. (netted)
@WonkyWomble I hope your back is better by Monday, or you could do yourself another mischief!
@D0rdogne_Damsel It will be interesting to read your comments next week once the Covid Pass comes into use.
Morning all, Happy Anniversary @Hostafan1, hope you enjoy the day with your visitors. It's absolutely tipping down here, really awful - just what you don't need whilst trying to load the car up. We're waiting for the British Heart Foundation people to collect our old large coffee table . They resell furniture in good condition for the charity. Hope they turn up soon, I really need it out of the way. Hope it doesn't rain too much for you @AuntyRach - you've got time off, haven't you? Good luck with the waxing, polishing and steam cleaning Obelixx.
