Just finishing my breakfast coffee and catching up with the Olympics. Bit of drizzle here today, so Iām unlikely to do any gardening today. Hopefully after yesterdayās rain as well, the brambles will be easier to get out while the ground is soft, so I canāt delay too long. In the middle of moving some rooms round in the house, so taking the opportunity to put together stuff for the tip and the charity shop. Mustnāt mix them up! Congratulations, Hostafan, and all those who have had recent anniversaries. Bet you canāt believe where the years have gone!Ā
Morning all Happy Anniversary @Hostafan1 and hubby have a lovely day. Take care of that back @WonkyWomble don't be in a rush to do heavy "stuff". Looks like an overcast day today but not chilly. Aubergines and Peppers are growing very well here @tui34, can't think why with all the bad weather we have had, but they are in a warm protected part of the garden. Tomatoes are only just starting to ripen though. I have tried Watercress for the first time this year but it is very disappointing even had it stood in water as well as watering from the top, but it may be the rubbish compost that I used! Have a good day all.
Morning everyone,Ā happy anniversary @Hostafan1. Damp & grey start here we had a rude awakening with an unexpected parcel delivery at 7.29. I know that's halfway through the morning for you early birds but that's early for us.Ā
@tui34@floralies we have tomatoes and potatoes galore. Our Broadbean are finally coming on but I have a total no show on my Aubergine š« the plants are doing great and have a mass of flowers but now fruit. Everything seems to be lateā¦..even my geraniums are only just starting
I hope youāre having a good day Hosta. Ā Best wishes to you and Hubby for your anniversary.
we are due for our second vaccine injection tomorrow. Ā Iāll be happier when thatās done, even though I believe I still wonātĀ Ā be completely safe from the virus. Ā Still every step must be helpful.
Happy Anniversary, @Hostafan1. Hope you have a lovely day. It'll be our 24th later this year, although we've been together for 31 now. We didn't have to wait for the law to change though - just to decide it was 'for keeps'.
The weather's a bit iffy but not as bad as yesterday. No gardening though, working all day. Lots of people are heading off on holiday all at once so I'm picking up a lot of 'could you just cover this meeting/issue the report/call this person' work over the next month
It pays the bills. I'm saving up for a greenhouse - I've never had oneĀ
Gardening on the edge of Exmoor, in Devon
āIt's still magic even if you know how it's done.āĀ
I'm so sorry @Hostafan1 Ā Yes, I do remember now the 26 years you have been together. Ā I hope the day is going along nicely for you. Ā Still waiting for the sun to come out as the weather report promised this morning. Ā We are going to eat out at lunchtime. Ā It's not cold though.
Salut @Floralies Ā My toms were late ripening too but they're coming along slowly which I prefer, then when they all come on together later in the summer, they should be full of sugar and make good sauce. Ā I grow watercress in my pond (no fish). Ā And because the pond has a slow leak, the water gets renewed every day. Ā I find the cress is smaller in the summer and abundant during the other seasons. Ā I love it strewn Ā (raw)through hot mashed potato and butter!!
@SilviSherr Ā Glad to hear you have an abundance of veggies. Ā We could be in for a coolie winter this year.
That's a good thing to save for @raisingirl.Ā Power to your elbow.
Furniture moved out of the way and ceiling, radiator and skirting boards steamed.Ā Ā Might not need to wood wash the ceiling after all which will please my neck.Ā Being tongue and groove I can't do my usual trick of walking back and forth with a roller on a a stick.Ā Ā Have to get in there with a brush.
Next job is to spray paint the radiator.Ā Ā Ā
No aubergines here @tui34 cos I dislike them but we have had our first cucumber and the chillies have flowers at last and some of the tomatoes are ripening.
Good luck for your jabs tomorrow @Pat E ?Ā You'll be very much safer for it.
