No,my lovely Hostas Hosta😂. Finger looks like a shark attack
I don't use anything. I rely on the sheer numbers to overwhelm attack. I do have frogs, toads, blackbirds, thrushes and , of course, Wee Spikey Hedgehogs, AND NO CAT. I get some damage by now , but nothing I can't live with.

Thank you for the supportive comments, all helps. I'm very lucky really, I have found some super staff this year, it's just a couple that are causing issues. Just not fair to the rest of the team to not give 100%, just means others have to work harder. Whatever job I've done, I always do my best, a one point I was cleaning for an old lady and a single man, but even then I cleaned it like it was my own home, certainly the single man wouldn't have known any difference. I do struggle to understand how anyone could not do their best. I understand that not everyone has the same skill sets, I do have a couple of 'weaker' staff, but they do give 100% and I support them. It's the one or two who 'can do' but choose not to..... Anyway, back to it.
Have a good day all, hope you're feeling better soon @WonkyWomble.

Damp here and set to be so all day. I've just done some polyfilla in alcove corners before I go and get showered for the weekly shop. It'll be dry enough to paint when I get back and then furniture waxing while the paint dries.
@D0rdogne_Damsel I imagine most of your staff are part-time Brits, not trained French staff who take a catering career seriously. I still think you should close for at least one evening and a whole day very week. It would give you time to catch up on family, garden, paperwork and your brain time to mull over quietly instead of full time stressing. you're supposed to enjoy it all and not be exhausted.
@Nanny Beach try an ordinary plaster. Waterproof just don't stick. Garlic spray for hostas (I'm told) and good cultivation so they grow strong enough to fight off slimester attacks. Night time sessions with a torch too.

Very good point @Obelixx ... she's always been remarkably strong and can pick up and carry things some men would baulk at ... and she's only slightly built ... however I keep telling her that 'because she can' doesn't mean that 'she should' ... our backs don't like it as we get older and we take longer to repair. Even tho' we're only 27

Obelixx, yes I put a "normal" plaster, nitril glove, tried to key in numbers to pay with right hand, proved impossible,Luckily hubby knows my pin, joint account anyway,
Good afternoon all. Sun has come out this afternoon, so have the cabbage whites. Netting more brassicas today. Have a good afternoon and go easy on the rosé tonight!! Tui
Anyone would think I'd been on the rosé the other day when I went to buy chicken feed and picked up a tray of broccoli plugs which turned out to be bl**dy Brussels sprouts when I got them home.
Popped into a plant shop on the way to the SM today and now have 12 broccoli babies and some pots of basil and parsley then went tot LIDL for wine and salmon and they still had some trays of Asian lilies and cannas so more plants leapt into the car. DIY shop and SM raid done so a late lunch and now having a cuppa before donning the painting and waxing gear.
We always put netting on brassicas @tui34 - keeps the chooks off too.
I take it you have lots of compost and pots to hand @Hostafan1
