Thanks for all your support. I'm not really worried by the thought of an op. Secondborn had her gall bladder removed via key hole surgery when she was 18. I'm just relieved that it wasn't anything more serious.

We had simultaneous thunder and lightning as a storm passed directly overhead just after 2pm. We lost our landline, internet connection and TV for the rest of the afternoon at least
I had more running-around-a-field duties this evening. Fortunately, didn't get too wet and everything was working again when I got home around 9pm
I've discovered that Eurosport has coverage of the Olympics. Watched the end of the cycling time trial and now watching every heat of various swimming events. Miles better than the shambolic BBC coverage where you just seem to watch the same thing over and over again and miss seeing some sports at all

I've been gardening this afternoon, weeding, planting, chopping down geraniums, deadheading roses. It kept trying to rain but no real downpours.
