  • LB I’m glad you slept better.  I like the quote.  Chive enjoy the painting and have some time to relax later.  Good morning Rubee I hope you’ve had a good night.

Good morning all. Heavy rain here but the garden needs it. Sister is off for a week in Rye today. I am on rat sitting duty. Struggling a bit with daughters news and feeling rather tired and emotionally drained. Work is busy and we have problems with delivery drivers from our suppliers off so medication not arriving when it should then the customers complain to us. I wish I had as much power as customers think I do to alter the situation.
Sounds like you are enjoying the Olympics.
Hope you all have a good Friday.

Good morning Chive, Ruby and Debs. Sssshhhh Chive, don't mention the 'p' word, you'll have Hazel champing at the bit! Its chucking it down here as well and I might be FORCED to go to the GC as it might keep others away. It all depends on how brave I feel a bit later. I've also got to try and see Jack today too and take him his pomegranate.
Debs, it will take a while to rationalise your daughter's diagnosis in your mind but she will need her Mum's support more than ever now. I'm sure that you will find the inner strength to get through this dark time in the families lives. Remember we are all here for you whenever you feel the need to offload. Smile sweetly at the awkward customers and put their bad behaviour down to the fact that they are possibly frightened by the possibility of no medication.

    Morning all,

Apparently, there are fewer concussions when headguards are not worn by men. They haven't got sufficient data to say for women yet :o

I don't regard boxing as a sport. More like voyeurism. The fascination of watching two humans trying to beat each other senseless is completely lost on me.

The BBC sport website said that Dina Asher-Smith would be running between 3.40-4.30am. I was up but couldn't find it. I think she ran later than that so have just had to watch it without being able to avoid knowing the result :(

The Olympics is currently supplying me with joy and frustration in equal measure. That's sport I suppose ;)

Good morning Hazel and Biglad. Hazel, I'm sorry to hear that you were a bit under par yesterday so take things easy today - this is where the bad weather helps us to regenerate our energy.
At Biglad, never a truer word spoken regarding sport. The highs and lows for spectators can be quite exhausting

My morning inspection has yielded (apologies @Songbird-1 @star gaze lily but at least no photos!) a fresh feline 'gift', a huge gastropod and fewer blueberries on the Bluecrop :(

On the plus side, the sheep haven't dined in the front garden overnight, all the stuff in new pots has stayed upright and flower buds continue to open all over the place :)

    You win some ......

Back from the GC. Marti flourished in abundance but when I got there it was fairly quiet. I had some loyalty vouchers to use up so I enjoyed cake and tea and got a new pot for one of my semps. Oddly enough I discovered three plants had leapt into my basket before I got to the till. 3 Jewel of the Desert (Delosperma) all jewel colours too. I had saved a sprig from Bestie's plant a few weeks back (she is so rough with plants and was just going to pitch it out) and its rooted for me. Her mother plant has lovely burnt orange flowers - similar colour to fox and cubs, so I went for Moon Stone, Peridot and Grenade today. They should make a lovely'hot spot' in a pot.
Hazel, it is so good to hear the news regarding your Mum. Long may the decision remain on hold. Hope your OH can hear clearly again after his surgery visit.

    Hello all.

Lovely to hear all your good news @Songbird-1.

I've watched quite a lot of Olympics this morning, enjoyed the trampoline, but I agree @Biglad, I just don't understand boxing. Shame about our rowers, they've done so well in the past.

I like painting. I've painted nearly all the Norfolk cottage and tiled the kitchen after the new one was fitted. The sitting room was green and dark. We had a new window put in and I painted the walls white. It's the oldest room with beams in the walls, and a big fireplace with woodburner. The main bedroom was dark green, I painted that white too and made some pretty curtains. The breakfast room was dark grey. We had a window put in there too and I painted it primrose. I painted the next door dining room primrose too, it had been yellow ochre. It all looks much lighter now. I painted the 2 guest bedrooms during the lockdown last year.

  • Hazel, you must be so relieved with regard to mum.  I hope your oh gets sorted soon.  If you’re not feeling well rest today.  Debs take things step by step and try and find things for you and your daughter can do to unwind and relax.  LB it sounds like you had a good time at the garden centre and cake and tea.  No doubt you’ll enjoy watching your new finds flourish.
