    Morning all,

Spoiler alert  - skip the rest of this paragraph and think happy thoughts!! I'm a grumpylad this morning. Just been out fettling the tomatoes, chucking some rose cuttings that weren't looking A1 and harvesting one, unmunched strawberry :o Also delighted to see that the cat poop that I shovelled up yesterday has been kindly replaced overnight :( I wonder if the Brighton Cat Killer is just a completely evil nutjob or was tipped over the edge by a feline faeces overdose? Only getting to see decent coverage of 'lympic events if I stay up all night or catch them on Eurosport. Don't the BBC realise that some people won't know the overnight stories when they tune in at 6am, 7am, etc. A small attempt to show extended highlights without spoiling it would be appreciated. They've got all day to show us what's happened in infinite detail but choose to weigh straight in with 30 seconds that renders it all unwatchable to me. I want to get into it, have the uncertainty as it all unfolds, get excited (heaven forbid) but no. BANG - we won this, we won that and we'll be showing you how it all happened later when you can stare at it cold :(

Running-around-a-field duties this afternoon. Hope that Winkleman doesn't invite Marti along. God help anyone that crosses me ;)

I guess you have dipped your pen in vitriol and fired off a letter to the Beeb then Biglad? Or maybe you fired off an email, having banged ferociously on the keys to vent your spleen?
Maybe a bit of running around in the fresh air will help you to feel better. Got everything crossed here that it stays dry (ish) for you.

Afternoon all. Feeling a bit better this morning but not quite right - and now I've got a banging headache to boot. Might have been overdoing it as Hazel suggested (although I doubt it) or maybe just picked up a little bug from somewhere. A day of gentle pottering beckons - mainly indoors methinks.

Finally got around to sewing up the hem of one of the heavy sitting room curtains last night (they've only been pinned up for about 7 years🤭 - nobody knew except me so who cares?). Each curtain is 3m wide so it took a couple of hours. Might do the other one today. Might....

Wish we'd had a bit of the heavy rain some of you have been enjoying. There's been a couple of showers over the last week but nothing more. I think the downpour while we were away last weekend did some good but we need to keep up the rain dances for a while yet please.

@Busy-Lizzie - do you mind if I ask which pub, which village? Am I correct in thinking you're between Attleborough and Thetford? Always looking for somewhere nice to meet old friends half way between here and Gt Yarmouth. Usually ends up with me driving up to Norwich because there's so little choice elsewhere. Looking forward to our little trip to Peter Beales in a couple of weeks🙂

@Topbird  🤗 any chance you could’ve been a bit dehydrated … or possibly just a bit out of kilter with your sodium/potassium levels?  Too much ‘glowing’ and lots to drink along with a low salt diet can cause problems …

  • Topbird I hope your feeling better today.  It’s not a pleasant feeling.  Hazel I hope you have a better nights sleep tonight.  LB I like your quote sometimes we can get lost in our words.  Biglad I hope the exercise sets you up for the day.  Hazel kind of you to offer one of your spares.  Not so good advice from her son.  The young are taking their time or absenting themselves from vaccinations.  Approx 742 pregnant women in hospital with COVID only a few having had one vaccination.  In April pregnant women were encouraged to have the vaccine.  It’s a concern for them balancing which would be the best way forward.  I do hope they make a good recovery.   Cooler today.  I had a sleep in as I was feeling quite tired.  Busy enjoy your outing.  It sounds like a lovely pub.  Chive I’m watching the athletics and about to make a cup of tea.  Lily I hope your doing okay today and oh is finding the Pilates fun.  Have a good day everyone.

Thanks for the suggestion @Dovefromabove but I don't think it's that. In recent days I've been drinking enough non-alcoholic stuff and not TOO much of the alcoholic kind. Even last weekend I was drinking only drinking normal strength beer - and only a couple of halves each day (one at lunch and one in the evening).

I suppose I did get a bit hot and bothered on Thursday but OH was doing the hard work of cutting the hedge while I was just pushing the lawn mower and clearing up behind him. Sure I'll be fine in a day or so. Not sleeping very well at the moment so that won't be helping with the headache.

My tea meter tells me when something's not quite right. If the thought of drinking tea makes me feel decidedly ickey then something's wrong - and at the moment just typing those words is not good...

Have a craving for fruit at the moment so I've picked some raspberries and blackcurrants to make a compote.😋

T'bird, I'm sorry that you are still feeling a bit offside. I know when I'm short of  a cup of tea because I get a headache. Luckily I am not blighted with them too much but they do make you feel wretched.

    I've sent you a message @Topbird.

There were about 20 beers from local breweries at the pub, I tried 2 and OH tried 2. They did 1/3 pint glasses, not seen that before. The crackling was yummy, good that OH doesn't like it. We ate in the garden warmer than we expected, sun came out.

Afties all. Busy, when my local has a Beer Festival they provide 1/3 pint glasses and Ellie, the landlady has had special wooden boards made with circular holes in which just hold the little glasses up to where they taper outwards near the top. Easy to carry and fine for taste testing the different ales. I am very fond of crackling too.
