But then look at the deference afforded to an utterly imperialist institution like the royal family and having as PM a man that has unapologetically dog whistled racist sentiments for years in order to win votes from the gutter.

It's the way of things that fans will yell at players who disappoint them but no excuse for racism, or any other form of bigotry directed at players. These racists and xenophobes, like the ones attacking Danish families (after England won) are the shame of this country. We can tell ourselves they don't represent all English fans, but until their behaviour is stamped down upon they unfortunately kind of do.
