At last the Peardrops tom has turned, but still like the golden sunrise for taste.
Have had to make a batch of vegetable soup already, as had a glut of cucumbers ripen.

Another mixing bowl full of plums, this variety is Opal.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

I have plum Opal as well they are hanging like bunches of grapes. A lot are dropping to the ground even though they are not fully ripe.

@WillowBark what a fabulous harvest. Our strawberries (in the polytunnel where the badger can't get them) finished a month ago. Our blueberries are not ready but the blackcurrants have all been picked.
We started very badly this year but now the veg is coming into it's own.
These are all producing so much and now all at the same time. Have picked yet more and some will go into the freezer.
Great to have your own veg straight from the garden.

Love the fresh vegetables @bertrand-mabel. @Allotment Boy yes, the plums I picked are from just a small low hanging branch. Plenty fallen on the ground as well.

Thanks, @bertrand-mabel, your harvest looks great, too! What are the dark purple beans, please? I've never seen those before.
  • @WillowBark The purple beans are "Purple teepee" dwarf french beans. I don't like runners so we grow all dwarf french beans and always get a fabulous harvest. On cooking though they don'y stay purple but go a dark green colour.

Excluding the dwarf French beans which I pick daily I'm not very happy with my harvests so far this year...... Might be harvesting my first courgette and cucumber this week
