I can appreciate how you feel @steephill . When my mother was in her final months she could not speak or eat.  Her passing was sad,  but also,  a relief.  My condolences.

    Good morning all.

Sending sympathy to @steephill and Mrs. Steephill.

Rain isn't forecast, although it rained early this morning, so I will tackle the long border - needs weeding, edging, tying up and planting. Some plants have disappeared and others are being thugs.

@Busy-Lizzie it only rained because OH had got his bike out to whizz down to Wrose ... he's planning to stay in for the rest of the day so it should stay fine  B)

    Afternoon all,
@steephill So glad your OH was able to be with his mum at the end.  I know how important that is and also how you will be experiencing mixed emotions at the moment.  Hugs to both of you.
@Hostafan1 that nights sleep will do you the world of good.
Off to get a deep tissue massage in a minute in the hope that it will sort my back out.  Just time for a quick cuppa before I go.

    Hi all

    Back from our holidays.
Had a wonderful time, 2 days of opulent gastronomy in the lakes, Moira was delighted to meet Gary Lineker at breakfast on day 1, apparently much better looking in the flesh than on TV.
After that we were in the wilds of Argyll, really remote and very beautiful, helped by wall to wall sunshine all the time.
Not had time to read back, so hope all are well.

    Hugs to @Hostafan1

Evening all. Weather a bit on the gloomy side. Not cold, but the grey and drizzly scene does not cry Summer.

Condolences to @steephill. As others have said, mixed emotions in these circumstances. May you have plenty of cuppas, hugs and kindness in your family this week.

Sounds and looks like a wonderful treat of a holiday @punkdoc

    Take care everyone.

Glad you had a good holiday @punkdoc. What did you have to eat? Opulent gastronomy sounds wonderful. Hotel looks lovely.

It was a gardening day. Why were there so many nettles in the long border, they weren't there last year. I have lost several plants, red helenium, a red lily, a gorgeous blue delphinium, a Doris pink, a King George red penstemon. I've planted most of the new plants.
