Sorry I’ve been AWOL for a couple of days. My quick skim through has let me know that some of you have some unhappy things happening. So sorry to hear. I’ll read back when I’ve got a chance.

     Back again.

Very sorry to hear about the funeral muck ups Steephill. Hope the recording gets sorted for the family. Hosta, I can’t believe what you’re going through at the moment. Thoughts and hugs being sent.  Wonky, so lovely to “see” you again. It sounds as though you’re working very hard.

Hubby had a tooth removed yesterday. An old football-cracked tooth that has been hanging on for years. I cooked a chicken soup for us tonight with some Asian noodles for him to such up. 🙄 He kept saying how much he enjoyed it. I think he was laying it on a bit thick, since he does most of the cooking, but hey, I’ll take his gratitude.  I used my fresh herbs from the garden for flavouring instead of the chicken cubes he favours. Much nicer flavours IMO.

All your comments about temperatures sounds off to me at this time. We woke to minus 7.2 today and it’s been cold all day. 😡

    bed time here. Night all.

Afternoon all, still very busy doing nothing much at all! Did the usual walk earlier, then some washing and ironing. Awaiting our SM delivery any minute, not sure whether I'm looking forward to our iced cinammon buns or Magnum icecreams more. Can't have both!
Glad you enjoyed your IOW holiday @Chicky.
Sorry about the news about your SIL @Hostafan1, hope he's not too bad.

Well we are just back from a visit to the Shard, in that there Lunnon. We had lunch in the restaurant on the 32nd floor so only half way up but still a great view.  We took the GCs as part of their 18th birthday celebrations.  Neither of their parents like heights so we got to do it. 😃
Great food,  bit pricy but very nice. Went on Thames link  overground train to London Bridge so cooler and quicker with their  ma giving us a lift to the station.

Gosh @Hostafan1, you'll just have to read a book! Is the home far from you live?

Evening all,  Bit of a stressful day here,  Hubby announced last night that he is having problems with the sight in his right eye.  His left is really rubbish as he had a detached retina that crumpled and didn't go back properly following surgery.  We drove to the Midland Eye Centre where he had his op.  We were there for 6 hours in very hot rooms being seen by various people.  The waiting room were full of people who insisted on using their mobile phone either playing noisy games or talking loudly (despite a sign that clearly said please turn off your mobile phone).  Hardly anyone was wearing their mask properly even though they had been given one on entry.  It turns out that a membrane has formed over his eye.  We now have to wait for an appointment to come through the post.

@Hostafan1 Glad that you have found somewhere for Hubby, hope it's close.
    @steephill Hugs
@Chicky Glad you enjoyed your holiday.
Sorry if I've missed anyone but my brain has stopped working.

@Yviestevie, that sounds just horrendous. You really didn't need any more aggro this year. Best wishes to your OH.

I hope things work out OK @Hostafan1 and that it's easy to get to for visiting.

Crumbs @Yviestevie!  Hope they can fix that soon.

I have spent my afternoon in the shade doing admin and writing a letter and quietly thinking about plans for the garden.  I might need to hide the keys to the mower as OH cuts too short and ignored a request to leave a whole patch of purple and white clovers and some little yellow weeds for the insects.

It is hot, hot, hot.   Supposed to be hot again tomorrow but get a bit stormy tomorrow evening and then be cooler on Monday.   Meanwhile, some of the plants are gasping so polytunnel beds and dahlia and squashes bed watered by seep hose.   Just the pots at the front to do now the sun is going down and then sprinkler on OH's "lawn" and my roses which need a good weeding.

  • Playing catch up on messages this week ( health and general life drama but in grand scheme of things very trivial reading what some others are going through here, so shan't bore you with details) , but hopefully the care home is suitable @Hostafan1 , sorry to hear about the funeral drama @steephill , and fingers crossed for your hubby @Yviestevie. Hope everyone else is keeping hydrated and cool ( or warm in the case of @Pat E. I do like the view from the Shard @Allotment Boy but its been over 3 years since I was last there.
