    Good morning to you!

    A special morning salutation to @Hostafan1  Yes, it's such a shock to hear those words which probably won't sink in for a long time, as yesterday seems the same as today.  Tell him about the good moments you had together, your feelings, your laughter and most of all, your love.

    @didyw  You will return full of inspiration.  Make sure you warm up the credit card!

    Windy - windier again today.  The soil is burning.  We have this until the weekend.

    Have a pleasant day all.

    Good morning Forkers. Don't often post on this thread these days but I do look in from time to time to see what you've all been up to.

    Just wanted to post this morning to say a special hello to @Hostafan1 . I am so sorry to hear your husband is so ill. I hope the medics can keep him safe and comfortable and that you are able to spend as much time as possible with him. Kind thoughts and very best wishes to you both.

    Bless you.

    Many thanks to you all for your support.

    Hopefully they can find him a nursing home soon. It's over an hour drive each way to and from hospital .

    @Hostafan1 ((hugs from us))

    Meanwhile we're trying to contact a friend who was flooded out of her flat off Kilburn High Road two days ago ... she wasn't at home when it happened but her home is full of deep water and sewage ... she thinks she's lost everything ...  thankfully someone has rescued her cats but we've not heard from her since she Tweeted about it on the 12th  ... bit worried now ... anyone know what the situation in that area is like now?

    @Hostafan1 is there a local charity which can help? Around here, your old Hampshire/Surrey stomping ground, Phyllis Tuckwell do an excellent job in helping to navigate the care system and helped us access fast stream funding for the care home for OH's mum recently.

    A couple of sights from last night. First something which was an everyday occurence but is now rarer - contrails. I didn't see whether this was some sort of formation flying or simply aircraft separation on the flight path but it did look a bit unusual to see such stable parallel streams.

    The moon has been setting low on the horizon in the evening recently picking up the last of the colour from the setting sun.

    We had a good show from the local bats too last night. I got my OH a bat detector for Xmas and it is now getting some use. Last night it seemed to be pipistrelles flitting gracefully around.

    I hope he doesn't mind me explaining that funding shouldn't be an issue for @Hostafan1 's husband ... he will be eligible for Continuing Care funding from the NHS as his condition is so serious and imminently  terminal.  Because of the severity of his dementia he will need a specialist placement.
