I'm overseeing the staff this evening, not cooking, I have a bottle of my favourite Percharmant with me on a discreet corner table, the new waitress seems to be doing fine, much relief. Quite a few in too.

My roses are raising their heads slowly, @floralies, you have my absolute sympathy, it is heartbreaking to see so many broken plants after all our efforts.

What a disappointment @Hostafan1, how can hosts behave like that?! Hopefully seeing the gorgeous grandson will soften the blow.

@Yviestevie, I do hope you're able to really enjoy the break, what a tough year you've had.

    Enjoy your evening all. 🙂

Thanks for the good wishes folks …..you spurred me on 🤣.

The last time I felt like I did this morning was in June 1986 (my last exam) 🤢.  It doesn’t matter that I don’t  need to pass these ones, there is still something about facing a load of unseen questions, knowing the answers are all in your notes, but not knowing if you have successfully committed it all to memory 🤯.  It felt as horrible this morning as it did for my finals 👩🏼‍🎓.  However, today they went ok - one very good, one with some tricksy wording, and two good and bad in equal measure.  So four exams in one day done …….thats a lot of writing ✍🏻 ✍🏻.    Now its wine time 🍷.

so sorry to hear you got a battering @floralies - high winds are very scary.  And hope your flowers perk back up @D0rdogne_Damsel.  I am looking forward to getting back out in my garden and catching up with some jobs ….everything has gone on hold this last month.

Enjoy the wee one @Hostafan1 …..special times indeed 😀😀😀

I'm sure you'll be fine @chicky, enjoy your wine and put your feet up.

That's heartbreaking @floralies, I hope they perk up when the weather is better, but, of course, you can't stick back the broken ones.

Glad the new waitress is good @D0rdogne_Damsel, enjoy your wine too.

How disappointing @Hostafan1, but seeing the little fella will do you a world of good after the disappointment.

OH had various tests at the hospital but he has to self isolate from the 29th until his op, which means I do to. The 29th was my first day of freedom after quarantine  :'(

Oh dear @Busy-Lizzie … that means we can’t meet up until your OH is home after his op. What a nuisance 😢  … but it’ll be great for him when it’s done 💃🕺… in the meantime if there’s anything you need that you can’t get, just give us a shout … we could bring it to the end of your driveway and throw it to you …. or some such scheme 😉

That is heart wrenching @floralies.  Hope your no. 1 daughter is OK @Nanny Beach@Hostafan1 - what an awful thing from Airbnb - complain!  But I'm sure it won't take the shine off giving your little grandson a big hug.  Enjoy your holiday @Yviestevie. Glad things are going well at the restaurant @D0rdogne_Damsel.
We had disappointment today - the engineer came to fix the dishwasher.  He walked in - turned it on and it worked!  He checked a few things, ran a cycle with it on empty and then left.  So after supper (lamb with mashed sweet and ordinary potatoes and lots of lovely cabbage from the veg.patch) OH loaded up the dishwasher - and nothing. Exactly as before.  So it's back to the interminable telephone menu then hanging on for half an hour for someone to actually answer again tomorrow.  Grr.

Waiting for the fog to lift.

Nothing planned for today. My 81st and I feel ok.  Might go to town for lunch.  I’m not bothered though. Hubby has bought me a special new Derwent pencil sharpener to go with the pencils he bought a couple of weeks ago. Looks as though I’ll have a colouring day. 😁
