Hello folks ... lovely afternoon ... OH has been planting out cosmos and Honeywort and other odds and ends and I've been potting on, sorting out, and tidying the terrace.  Then we had supper on the terrace ... local lamb chops with a little mint sauce,, broccoli, asparagus, new potatoes, hollandaise and a glass or two of 'something white and chilled' ... we were interrupted by a phone call from Bro who is so much brighter since the good news re his eye, and he was waxing lyrical about pictures of @WonkyWomble's garden ... now to catch up with last night's Sewing Bee ...........

Good evening. It’s been mainly cloudy here today and a bit muggy - think it’s will be quite warm on the weekend. Been watching/listening to a young green woodpecker yaffling away in the garden.

I sowed some spinach and potted-on the tomatoes to their final home. I’m doing an experiment with growing the cucumelons - some in a hanging basket, some in polyhouse, and some outside on the sweetpea trellis.

Hope you are all ok. Have a lovely evening.

My foot is a lot better thanks. I rubbed Arnica on it and took some Paracetamol. I've unpacked 21 boxes of books, need to buy another bookcase for the last four. I'd already unpacked quite a lot in other parts of the house. I had a huge study with built in bookcases at the old house. Threw away and gave away quite a lot of books, had around 3000.

I had to do quite a bit of watering this evening, hot day.

Haven't eaten yet, first new potatoes are cooking.

Evening everyone,  volunteer day today so,  tired again.  It was only a partial eclipse but the drop in light and temperature was noticeable.  Cloud gave way to sun, in pm.

3000 books Busy-Lizzie! and I thought we had too many. No wonder you need more bookcases. I'm going to give some of my older gardening books to the charity shop to make space for newer ones. Ought to operate a one in, one out system for books, running out of space.

    Evening all,

In tribute to the fallen marigold that got munched in the line of duty last night, I've just been out and collared two dozen Cyrils going about their dastardly nocturnal business. There were 3 on the same marigold - hasn't it suffered enough :o

Aunty Rach I found that birds liked my cucamelons. I had to be quick to get them and a bit clever about covering them on a trellis.

Another day of potential rain, maybe snow, today, but it doesn’t bother me since I’m not doing anything outside.  We might go to town since Monday is a public holiday and there’ll be lots of tourists going through on their way to the ski fields. 😡

My friend who sells them, had a rush on the gloves. The Sydney people commented that they didn’t expect the weather to be so cold. Der! I’m trying to get more pairs knitted, but it takes me at least two full days to knit a pair. Oh well, if they like them, I’m happy.

your chooks are looking so healthy, Obelixx. It’s a credit to you.

    Morning all.
I slept very well, can't remember the last time I slept without needing the loo in the night.

Just noticed @Dovefromabove, that last night you said "we were interrupted by a phone call from Bro who is so much brighter since the good news re his eye". Have I missed a post? I'm so glad there is good news.

Great photo of the chooks @Obelixx, they look very sweet.

The farmer has just baled the hay in the field opposite. I've been watching 2 roe deer playing in it, the first deer I've seen since we came here. I'm glad the garden is fenced, I hope they don't jump over.
