Oh that is sad @Nanny Beach, I wonder what happened.

I should have looked here before breakfast, too late for peanut butter now, I've used nail varnish remover.

Only managed to weed half the round bed, it's got so hot out there.

Mulched the border yesterday and we've had nice steady light rain overnight.
Horse poo, woodchip and grass clippings into builders' dumpy sacks last summer and left to do their thing.

Ready to get more cannas, colocasias and bananas  :D in there

    Good afternoon to you all.

Indeed, very hot here - 34°C!   We're shuttered in for the afternoon -only way to keep the heat out of the house.  Funny, we wait all winter for summer only to shut ourselves away from about 11am until late afternoon for houses with a southern aspect.  We can usually sit in the shade around 4pm - reading, crosswords generally "lizarding" !!  Good weather for the garden but aphids still abound.  Sigh.

@Hostafan1  I think I have hedgehogs too but am reluctant to put food out for them as it attracts the ratty types.  I am sure the hogs can find their way around here for "grub(s).  I am having "correspondence" with the pension crew.  This has been an on going thing for about a year now.  I think it's just to keep post office workers employed.

@Pat E  Fun to see the snow - especially if you don't have to go outside.  Nothing nicer than the hearth and a good book.

@Busy-Lizzie  Glad you are getting things sorted before you leave.  Peace of mind.

@Dovefromabove   5am sun not up down here but light coming and how lovely to hear the sparrow's fart.  Yes, nice time of the day, that and late evening when the bats are abound!

    Have a pleasant afternoon.
