Good God, my back is telling me I'm 56 and shouldn't be spending 20 hours in the garden this weekend! Pond project/beds/paths taking shape but OH and his mucker were too busy with the digger and dumper having fun... I wanted to mark out the beds/paths/pond but am told that's next weekend's playtime. Hoggit paths, anyone any experience? All may plants for my new beds are sitting on the gravel drive hoping for their new forever home. Just potted on 40 Delphiniums to line  a path down to the pond. How exciting.  New job is going well at Wolverhampton University. New promotion in the offing in August so hope to get help in with the garden, mowing, weeding etc x

No Lizzie, I'm far too cowardly and law abiding! Maybe there will be another year.

I hope you enjoy Trebah as much as we did @Yviestevie.

Portreath! @Yviestevie - when my now 50 year old daughter was a baby her father and I took a winter let at Portreath!  It was lovely but oh my, pushing a pram up that steep hill!  Hope you have a great time.

    Morning all,

Up early as it is judging day for 'France in Bloom' today where CdeG is, with the awful stormy weather lately a lot has been bashed about so need to try and spruce things up a bit. Unfortunately the judges can only judge from the exterior so won't see our lower garden which is the best bit, but the colours on the top terrace garden are lovely,
@sam bevington can you send your OH over early?
I hope you have a really good holiday @Yviestevie, awfully long journey but glad to hear the apartment is good.

Have a good day all. :)

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
woken at 5 this morning by a barking muntjac … it’s a good job I went to sleep early last night 😆

    🤞  @D0rdogne_Damsel

Enjoy Portreath @Yviestevie … give a wave to our friends who live just up the coast from you at Porthtowan… and don’t forget to go to the little Nat Trust café at Chapel Porth for a Hedgehog icecream … just heaven https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/chapel-porth. 😋

    Morning all,

Just helped pack up the car for OH and eldest to go to work for the week, so that's me home alone for another 5 days.

Other than shovelling up the latest deposit which I've just watched marmalade feline leave in the border against the back fence :( , what to do?

Time for another 'To Do' list ;)

Morning everyone. Our son is visiting, so I’m making our favourite Pea and Ham Soup for him to take back. 🙄😁😁

    Good morning gardeners!

Good luck for the "bloom" inspection @D0rdogne_Damsel    Another notch for CHdeG !!

@Biglad - mothballs are a great repellent, but I fear there are no more available as they contain a product which is now illegal.  Still if you find some, they work.  A few drops of oil/essence of citronella in water and sprayed around is another trick.  Good luck.

Overcast and cool here again.  Usually heats up about 3pm.  We are expecting the real heat in a few days' time.

Dreadful news about the Tour de France on Saturday.  The officials need to smarten up their act!!

Saying for today:  Le jour de Saint Irénée
                               C'est l'un des plus beaux de l'année.

    Well not here, it's not!!!

Tomorrow is St Peter's Day - patron saint of fishermen.  But yesterday (being Sunday) the priest of the parish, blessed the fishing boats.  Great processions, colours and food!!

    Have a good day everyone.
