Morning LB,  Ruby and all to follow.
Sounds like you have the weather we've been having the last few days. Hope it improves. Our garden is like a bog. The grass needs cutting, but will take days of sunshine to dry out.
@Rubee glad you had a lovely day in the garden.

Thinking of Hazel and her granddaughter and of Yvie, OH and Gabriel. Take care and look after yourselves too.

Good morning all. Dry here this morning but no sign of the sun. Had a lovely lunch at garden centre and I got my white lobelia! It was joined by a few other friends in my trolley of course. Hoping to get more pots and baskets done today. I rather foolishly bought a bronze fennel for an edible hanging basket then realised it was far too tall. One for the herb bed instead methinks.
Also got a gorgeous buttery cream dahlia. Never have any luck with them so fingers crossed it does ok. I may be on here for advice re winter care.
Hope things are improving for Yvie and Hazel gets positive news about her granddaughter. Let’s also hope today is thff we last we see of Marti Pellow for a while.

    Morning all.
Sunny at the moment but some showers are forecast.

I hope Yvie's husband is a bit better this morning. Good sign that movement came back in arm and leg, bodes well for speech.

I'm going to the DIY shop for light blue paint for one of my bedroom walls. Then I'll go to the SM for groceries and vegetables. Coffee in bed with my book first.

Good Morning LB, Rubee, SGL, Debs & Busy-Lizzie and all to follow,
LB Hope you’re not going to find any damage in the garden as a result of the stormy weather,
Rubee You are a real busy bee in the garden, hope you’ll be able to sit back and enjoy all your hard work soon,
SGL Our back garden is getting long, a little bird was foraging about and it was barely visible above the grass,
Debs How is your oH feeling? Great to hear you got your white Lobelia for the baskets plus a few extras,
Busy-Lizzie I like the way you ease your way into the day, hope you get all that you need today,
Thinking of Hazel and her eldest Granddaughter & Yvie, her OH and Gabriel, hoping there is some encouraging news for you all.

  • Good morning.  LB I hope your pots are all okay.  Rain today, we will have to see if there’s sunshine later.  Yvie i hope you’ve had some sleep and have an update today.  Take care.  Hazel I hope your granddaughter has some positive news.  Lily I hope the garden can dry out soon.  Chive enjoy your day with the little people.

Hello all. RosieBB the pots were all OK. I did wedge them well after they got tipped up last week. Chive, there were a few leaves torn off my acer but nothing too major. I decided to go to the GC for a quick mooch. I got what I wanted 2 drosera capensis which I'm hoping will get rid of the pesky fungus gnats that arrived with some rubbish compost I bought. I got a pink flowering one and a white flowering one and another plus point they were less then half the price of those I had seen on that famous auction site and the South American river site. I did not stay out too long though because it was very chilly. Hugging my elevenses mug now.

Afternoon all. Another grey & showery day but it's pleasant enough when (if) the sun puts in an appearance.

OH set off an hour or so ago on a 6 day circular cycle tour from Suffolk to the Cotswolds and back. When he woke up and saw it was raining again he seemed less than keen to get underway! The forecast suggests that it will become drier and warmer over the next few days but the wind is going round so that he'll have a headwind all the way round🤣. Really don't understand why he classes that as fun🧐 I may have to visit some nurseries etc to keep myself entertained...

Yvie - I'm so sorry to hear your latest news. I hope Gabriel is now feeling better and your husband makes a good recovery. Very distressing that you can't visit him. A couple of our local hospitals have now started to allow visitors again. I think there are fairly strict rules such as only one person per patient and a relatively short length of visit, temp checks, etc etc - but at least it's something. Hopefully it won't be too long before you can go to see him. Thoughts are with you and your family.

Hazel - hope there's some positive news about your granddaughter soon.

Very quiet on here today, you must all be busy in the garden.
I did a bit of gardening this morning, but the garden was far too wet so couldn't do much. It's been quite windy this afternoon and has been raining again since 4 o'clock. Had hailstones just now.
Don't think I'd want to be cycling in this awful weather 🌧🌧@Topbird Hope your OH doesn't get too soggy. 😕😉

Hi folks.  Just a quick update.  Gabriel is fine now the steroids have kicked in and his breathing and oxygen levels are back to normal.  Hubby's speech is showing signs of improvement.  He can now say the odd word.  He has his phone now and keeps phoning me but I'm finding it quite upsetting as I can't understand what he is saying and he is obviously trying to tell me something.  I run through everything I can think of and tell him all the news I have and how well he is doing but I can feel his frustration down the line.  I'm hopefully going to talk to his Doctor over the phone tomorrow morning but there is still no visiting.
Managed to get some gardening done today.  Mowed and edged the lawns and did a bit of weeding.  I'm hoping it will tire me out so I can get some sleep.

I'm glad things have improved a bit for you @Yviestevie, but I think the no visiting is a bit tough to say the least.

I went to the SM this morning and the DIY for blue paint and I bought 4yr old GD a birthday present which I took to the post office this afternoon.

I also went to the tile shop and my tiles have arrived at last! The lorry drive took them to a different shop in the wrong town. The builder says he'll come tomorrow to start laying them.
