Good evening all. My ex has just texted me with the results of the blood and tissue samples from my son, so we, finally, have cause of death. Diabetic Ketoacidosis. I hadn't heard of it, so consulted Mr Google. I didn't fully understand it, but it is to do with a sudden shortage of insulin. At least we have an answer.

Hope everyone is well or improving.

    Evening everyone,
LB The diet is helping thank you, I’m feeling better for making a few changes. Hope you have a nice time with bestie tomorrow .
Hazel So pleased to hear your granddaughter is out of hospital, but it’s disappointing that they cannot confirm what has caused her problems. Glad you had a nice time with your mum yesterday, you’ve waited such a long time to see her and had a lovely time together reflecting on photos of your dad, wonderful memories,
Topbird I hope that your OH is getting on well with his bike ride and you have been able to have some time in the garden, or going out to a nursery,
Busy-Lizzie Great news your tiles are finally going down, hope they are making good progress,

@Pauline 7 It has been a long wait for you to find out the cause of your sons death, thoughts with you.

    Signing off now, Goodnight everyone.

I was so sorry to read about your son, @Pauline 7. I hadn't heard as I only read the other chat thread. At least you have an answer. He must have been diabetic.

I'm glad your granddaughter is out of hospital @Songbird-1, but I wonder what the trouble was. Let's hope it's gone.

The study/sewing room is now tiled but needs grouting and the shower is nearly tiled. Utility room next. Plumbing is coming on Saturday to do the shower fittings and put a new tap on the sink and plumb in the hot water.

I've painted most of the bedroom ceiling but there is still a lot of wall to do. Needs two coats.

I'm feeling sick as a parrot @Ladybird4 but that relates more to a football result than a vaccine.

Good morning all. The sun is shining and I am off to work in a bit. Expecting it to be busy as people realise there is a Bank holiday coming up.
Pauline it’s good that you have answers but my heart goes out to you, hope happy memories of your son will comfort you a little.
Frustrating for the family that there are no clear results from your granddaughters stay in hospital Songbird.  How lovely to spend time with  your mom after so long apart.
Hope you all have sunshine and a pleasant day today, roll on the weekend!

Good morning Debs and all to follow. Pauline at least you now know the circumstances but how very sad you must feel. Thoughts are with you.
Hazel, I forgot to say yesterday how lovely it was to hear about your trip to your Mum's. It must have been wonderful for you all looking through those treasured photographs. I bet it gave your Mum a real boost seeing you.
Chive, I am pleased to hear that the food tweaks seem to be working well for you. Onwards and upwards.
Busy-Lizzie, it mst be great seeing your floors finally taking shape (can you say that about flat floors? ) Ah well, you know what I mean.
T'Bird, have you heard from biker man? I do hope that the weather is being kind to him. Its looking lovely out there this morning.

@Songbird-1 so pleased to hear your granddaughter is home from hospital. Do hope they find out what is causing the pain. How lovely you could see your mum, she must have been so very glad to see you after all this time.  Lovely to look through old photos, lots of special memories.
@Pauline 7  its good you have the results but so very sad for you. Sending my very best wishes. Take care of yourself.
@Ladybird4 yes OH watched the footie too!   I  watched 3 episodes of The Pact! .....got it right so far.
Going to spend some time in the garden, we're going to repot the Olive tree. New pot arrived yesterday.......it could take awhile 😕😂 Also do some weeding and move the winter fire shrubs. Next doors Weeping willow is getting rather large and they seem to be suffering.
Have a lovely day everyone, take care

Thanks all. We knew son was diabetic,  but it was well controlled,  normally.  DKN  can be be brought on by several things,  including an  infection.  This seems to be the reason in his case as his results showed a high level of white blood cells.  Covid was not mentioned.
