Builders are here, grouting the study/craft room floor. It should be ready for daughter 1's 16 year old son to sleep in when they come the weekend of 4th June. The shower in the utility room next door should be ready too as the plumber is coming on Saturday.
I will carry on with bedroom painting today and I'll mow the lawn this afternoon.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Glorious sun Temps forecast not to drop below 9 degrees now (well, not during the 2-week forecast anyway).
A full day in the garden beckons. It hasn't developed significantly recently so time to affect some change!
The penalties were torture @Ladybird4. Fortunately, they are the only thing that has made me feel ill in the last 24 hours. My immune system obviously isn't up for a fight
Pauline after such a long time it’s good you know the reasons even though very sad, sending my best wishes. Take care. Chive it’s good to hear that your food amendments are having a positive effect. Hazel you and your mum will have positive memories of your visit. I’ve just had a cuppa.
Morning all - seems a lot calmer and drier today so hoping to get outside for a couple of hours. It's not often we get rained off for several days down here.
On the plus side I have used the indoor time and completed and submitted all 4 tax returns - Yay!🎉 Feels like a weight has been lifted not having that job hanging over me.
Pauline - good that you have some answers now.
Hazel - disappointing they couldn't work out what had affected your granddaughter so badly. Fingers crossed it's a one-off. Lovely to hear about your day with your mum - will have done you both a world of good.
BL - house is coming along isn't it? Don't work too hard. Any idea when you're joining OH in the UK? Guess you have to factor in quarantine days at both ends now plus a load of tests which don't come cheap. We definitely won't get to Europe with the motorhome again this summer - maybe next ski season....
Chive - I missed the post about you changing diet - good to hear you're starting to feel some benefits.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Evening everyone, its been a for sunny day. Sun is still shining now. Got the Olive tree reported and moved a few plants around. Also pulled up some of next doors Ivy! 😩😩 Its started to go up the oak tree, so got as much as I could off that too. Ache a bit now, but it looks lovely. Just need the grass to dry a bit more so we can cut it. Quite on here this afternoon, so I guess you've all had lovely weather and been in your gardens too.
I've been outside SGL - got a bit too hot - first time in weeks😎 Well done on getting your jobs done. I have lots and lots of little ones to do - and a couple of bigger ones...

Had a good day in the garden but did waste a lot of time getting a gravel board in (almost) and then trying to get it out again. Turns out two of the fence posts are a little bit closer to each other than the others so it wouldn't slot in and then got stuck I'll have to shave a bit off and try again.
Painted some more planters and started to line a couple. If the weather is decent tomorrow, I'll have them in use by the weekend
Evening all. I've had a different day today. The trip with Bestie to the GC has been put on hold as her daughter-in-law plus granddaughter were at Bestie's for DIL to have her hair done and Bestie and I could revert to childhood with granddaughter. We had a funpacked day and the weather was very kind.
Congratulations T'Bird on getting the boring paperwork finished.
Hazel, it does sound as though you and your OH have got the Bank Holiday weekend all mapped out so fingers crossed for dry days.
Debs, did you get all your baskets completed or are they still a job to be completed?
SGL, well done on all your hard work today. Feet up tonight and enjoy your evening.
Bestie gave me some cosmos plants today so my jobs for the weekend are building up.
Six of us are going out for a pub lunch tomorrow. We've been looking forward to this for over a month now. We will be eating indoors too so no cold food!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
T'Bird and Biglad, you snuckered in there. Good grief Biglad! I would have sworn very loudly and kicked that gravel board. How very frustrating for you.
p.s. I would have more than likely broken my toe in the process.
