Agree LB about the pressure washer, great for some jobs, but not the drive. And can certainly make a mess.....and you get rather wet too 😂

    Morning all.

I hope they are the in between the lamp posts marks, Hazel.

More rain, more bedroom ceiling painting. But I'm going back to bed with my book and a mug of coffee first.

Morning SGL, Hazel and Busy-Lizzie. SGL, are your sweet peas all safe? I had your night time weather all day yesterday. I had a good night's sleep last night for a nice change now need to get motivated. Hazel, the white marks may be for places to avoid as there could be electrical cables, gas pipes, drains, etc. there. I'm sure they know what they are doing.

Good Morning all, thankfully the wind has dropped but it’s forecast to be a wet weekend,
LB Great picture, I do enjoy a big mug of tea & the plants in pants are excellent, glad you slept better last night,
Debs Fingers crossed the weather stays dry for you to plant your baskets later on,
Rubee Hope you & OH are keeping well, getting on top of your pots,
SGL Nice to see the garden is looking so lush, our grass is getting long too,
Hazel I hope you are not feeling too achey after the dentist treatment yesterday and your son & daughter are ok since having their 1st jabs. Your Aquilegia is a real beauty and with such a great name.
Busy-Lizzie The rain does help to make those painting jobs more appealing to do,
We are going to look at carpets today for the lounge, could be sometime 🤔
    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. We're back home after our little trip to lovely Northumberland where the weather was very kind to us.

Seems it was (nearly) wall to wall Marti Pellow at home and the garden is looking distinctly jungley - all very lush and green and the grass is very long. I never complain about having too much rain, but things will look so much better when it's dry enough to cut the lawn and trim the small ornamental hedges.

Hope you're feeling better today Hazel. Any form of head pain after being at the dentist is very unpleasant.

BL - I don't envy you having to do a tax return in French. Doing the English ones is bad enough and some of the wording is a bit ambiguous even in my native language. Can't imagine doing it in a foreign language.

I have 4 tax returns to complete this year😩 - MIL's, business, OH's and mine. Going to do MIL's today - it's by far and away the simplest and they owe her money so best get it done sooner. None of them are that difficult but I'm always so worried about giving incorrect info that it takes ages as I check, then double and triple check everything before pressing send.

SGL - I've watched all of LOD so I think everyone has if you want to talk about it. What did we all think about how it ended? Will there be another series? I still have suspicions about Carmichael.....

  • Chive and LB it is so sweet to have your Nel and Lily showing they’re pleased to see you.  Alfie enjoys a cuddle and is always happy when i replenish his food and fresh water.  I do it when he’s there.  Chive I hope you have your appetite back overtime and you feel less tired.  Hazel it was good to have a long sleep.  I’m glad your daughters been able to have her jab and your son.  I hope the tooth ache wears off soon and you can get it sorted.  LB the plants in the jeans are amusing :).   Biglad I could do with your energy, enjoy your morning.  Lily I saw jthe scene in LOD where he said it, although didn’t see the series.  I have watched Adrian Dubai’s walks which was very good.  Debs I hope you can get your planting done today.  Busy enjoy your book and cuppa before the painting.

Glad you enjoyed your break @Topbird.

Still haven't lifted the paintbrush. I made a banana cake with dried fruit spices and walnuts instead. Thought I'd try it in the wood burning oven instead, save electricity. It is now black on top and raw in the middle! The stove decided to get very hot, no thermostat, I must have put a log from the previous batch on it. It burned much hotter with them. Cake is now in the electric oven.

Hi @Topbird glad you enjoyed your holiday and the weather was kind to you.
Still raining here, grass seems to be getting longer by the minute. Will take days to dry out enough to cut it.
Glad your headache has gone @Songbird-1
@Busy-Lizzie hope cake is ok after finishing off in the oven. Still sounds yummy.
Haven't seen that programme @bluebellsinthewild sounds interesting.

Hope I'm not going to spoil anything, do hope everyone has seen  LOD now. But I'm really hoping there is another series, although rumour has it there isn't. I was disappointed with the ending. After all the build up and 6 series I can't believe it was Buckells! Think he's just carrying the can for the real H.  Still think  Carmichael is involved somehow and that  Marcus Thurwell (James Nesbitt) is alive and could be H 🤔 Although I'm still not sure about Ted Hastings! Too obvious? Maybe not 😉

Initially I thought the ending seemed a bit of an anti-climax but afterwards, I thought it was probably quite realistic. Corruption fuelled by greed, lethargy and incompetence rather than a superior mastermind pulling lots of puppet strings.

However, I still think Carmichael was far too quick in her attempts to divert any conversations or questions that could potentially point the finger at the Chief Constable. Definitely the potential for another series if they wanted to go there and we didn't actually see AC12 being wound up....

    Fingers crossed🤞

@Songbird-1 I don't know anyone that watched it that wasn't disappointed with the ending. A bit of a let down. They'd actually announced the last episode was going to be 90 minutes long. And about 10/15 minutes before the hour was up we thought it must be a longer episode. Very disappointing.

    @Topbird agree about Carmichael.
