Preloved drives me mad. It’s secondhand and why do football pundits insist on saying ‘he’s won a penalty’.  You are awarded a penalty, you don’t win one. Grrrr

Must admit I've not come across Preloved before .  Used or 2ndhand makes sense but preloved ????

Odious as it is, at least pre in pre-loved has a function. That’s more than can be said for pre-book and pre-order.

That's my reaction too Lyn  :D

Some presenters end their prog. by saying "I am Joe Blogs and this has been such and such a prog".
More often than not, they say " I have been Joe Blogs and this..............." which must surely mean that they have only been Joe Blogs for the length of that prog. and once off air, they will become someone entirely different ?

I suppose I could finish this post by saying "I've been Moaning Minnie and this has been @B3 's thread" and then revert to being Philippa for the forseeable future ;)

What about " a near miss"? which should really be " a near hit"?
I'd say a "near miss" is actually a collision.
