Something is,always in the last place you look. Well, of course it is. You stop looking when you've found it.

You could visit three similar countries though.

Here's a new one, well, for me anyway.

  • The phrase "Is there anything else I can help you with ? " when the basic query you posed has not even been dealt with.

A phrase that gets me is when you offer condolences to someone such as  ‘I’m so sorry for your loss’ and some smart arse joins in and says  ‘We all are’ as if you’re condolences are worth nothing.

I find it really difficult to express sympathy. Everything I think of sounds trite or insincere. Sometimes the only way is to piggyback on someone else's message. It doesn't mean that your feelings are any less sincere.

Exact and said are two words I find are now overused and thus just slightly annoying.

A sentence such as “I thought exactly the same thing” is now much more likely to be expressed as “I thought the exact same thing.” It’s not grammatically wrong but it is faddish.

”I agree with that sentiment” is being edged out by “I agree with said sentiment”. Another fad.
