Awesome is also used quite a lot here in the UK too.

I'm just waiting for something to be described as Amazingly Awesome - I suspect I won't have that long to wait ;)
Chris Packham said " amazing amazing" more than once last night.
I didn't see it but I'd be Amazed if he didn't pop a Poo in there somewhere.  I may just vote for "OMG what a Terrific Turd  - Awesome, just, like, really Amazing " .

Sorry - the appearance of sun today has affected my brain - just, you know, like a real shock :D

Starting a reply with, “So” Even supposedly very intelligent people have taken up this trend, including a maths professor I know.
sorry if this has already been mentioned, just didn’t have the energy to go back through the thread and check.

The "So" thing has been mentioned frequently on the forum for 2 or 3 years - there was even a thread entitled "So" at one point  ;)

It's just a mis pronunciation  of "erm " I believe.

So, you didn't have the energy to go back and check ??

    Sorry @Ergates - couldn't resist :D

'So' is used to reserve a parking space in a conversation while you assemble your thoughts.

The unnecessary ‘so’ has replaced the unnecessary ‘well’ at the start of sentences, the latter having an added puff of breath with the w.

One thing baffling me at present is the use of asterisks in swear words. I know what sh1t and b*gg*r mean and I am no more offended by the real thing than the coy version. Are others? Sometimes the device is used to get round profanity blockers but I don’t think that is an issue on this forum.
