TBH, I'm not that keen on "pushing buttons". What's wrong with "irritates" or "upsets" or ".
Possum is suffering depression, one of the many student casualties of Covid isolation and inability to pursue studies and research. Fine, I can deal with that but when we ask if she's interested in doing something or watching something she says she's not in the "mind space". "What's wrong with mood, or frame of mind?", I finally asked.
OH says I need to embrace language "moving on" as I did at least understand what she was communicating and she says it's current on young media. Not fine by me.

Pretty much every word in politicians lingo specifically when they try and avoid answering a straight forward question. What makes it worst is that they all utter the same words & sentences, for christ sake they've all been to the best schools in the country and there are 500,000 words in English language.
So I goes like...... and he goes like...that sentence really gets me. So, I turned round and said....then he turned round and said, I have asked people if they’re giddy yet with all the turning round.
This! Oh, and people who write in emojis because they can’t be arsed to find the correct words.

@dappledshade. Can you add Road Map to your list. Etc... because you don’t know anymore on the subject. If you like, I always say, no, if you like, you’re telling the story.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
I totally agree with you @Obelixx. 'Push your buttons' was an egregious offence against the English language and I can't even pretend I was being ironic
Something that really irritates me is the misuse of Me, Myself and I.
For example “Give it to ME” is correct, but “Give it to Dad and I”. Why does Me change to I when the subjects are plural ?
Is "Give it to Dad and I" correct? I would always say "Give it to Dad and me"...
No it isn’t correct, that’s the point I’m making. The same person could say both sentences, one right and one wrong - no logic why they change ME to I when a second person is added !

Me and Us are objects, either direct - "You or he/she/it give me/us the willies" or indirect as in "Give it to me/us".
